Mad Bull Ultimate Hop up on Echo 1 ER16

Postby Regular Guy » Sat Aug 28, 2010 2:52 pm

I have the Echo 1 ER16 and I was wondering if the Mad Bull ultimate hop up will fit. What modifications should I do if any?

Thanks!

As long as is doesn't have a 2 piece hop-up, you can install it.

I'm going to gamble and order it. I will post some updates when Evike.com or Precision Airsoft gets the Mad Bull ultimate hop up in stock, whichever gets it first gets my order...

Thanks!

PS
I might get air compression issue (air leaking) or some sort but I will experiment with the hop up.

My Echo 1 ER16 is now caput!

Needs new wiring harness - trigger slider connector gets stuck and one of the metal contacts is burned.

This was the same reason why it fires even after releasing the trigger.

Burned contacts.

It burned after I switched batteries from 9.6v 1100mAh to 2000mAh.
I believe I can still fix this problem by strengthening the spring (cutting it make it shorter) to pull the slider connector after trigger release. Plus I need to purchase a new wiring harness. Bad luck for me!

I did not end up buying the Mad Bull ultimate hop up since I had this problem.

The Mad Bull hop up is very twitchy on the ammo it likes. I installed one in my Bravo RDW and have had nothing but problems with it. Unless you use Mad Bull BB's.

Imagine that.

Hmm, well my Mad Bull hop-up has treated me well. Are you using a Mad Bull barrel with it Chefzilla?

Switching to a higher mah battery probably isn't what burned out your contacts, mah only measures how much the battery holds; the voltage is how strong the battery is (and usually the factor in burnt out contacts).

And I'd still say gor for the Mad Bull hop-up after you get that fixed up, it is a really nice step up from the standard self-un-adjusting M4 hop-ups.

I'll stick with stock hop up for now, I have to see and try the Madbull hop up first before I purchase one - anyone wanna let me borrow their Madbull hop up when I get my Echo 1 fix?

Prior to the burning incident on the slider connectors I was shooting paper targets when the trigger on my Echo 1 start sticking - it will fire even after releasing the trigger. At some point I ended up squeezing the trigger harder to make it fire. I believe at this point the slider connector was failing - I didn't know about it until I opened the gear box and found some burned markings around it and one of the metal contact was totally burned.

I may have to cough out $25-$30 bucks to get the complete wiring harness fix...

Virus, The element low resistance or echo 1 low resistance (element rebranded) work very well and are under $20.
