As soon as you-know-who is out of the hospital.

Also, http://www.cascadianairsoft.com now works. Of course, it just links to vivalapla.com but A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! heh.

Just as a clarification, people seem to think that the reason CAG changed its name from PLA to CAG was because we wanted to get away from our bad record (just some people's opinion, at least) and somehow hide from that.

We changed the name for a few reasons, none of which are worrying about the opinion of a small minority.

PLA began in the late 90's when people like DMitri and I were in high school and people like McNair didn't drink alcohol (he was "straight edge"). We were a rowdy group and had fun. Then I restarted PLA in or around late 2008. We tried different things, and some of them worked and some didn't. I used PLA as a large, social experiment and I learned a lot from it.

But what we've refined into is not what we've been before. Because we are a different entity is one reason we've changed the name. We are now a group based on airsoft training, and we wear the Cascdadian flag, hence Cascadian Airsoft Group. We were beginning to try working with more professional organizations (e.g., Camp Rilea) and a group called Liberation Army with a secessionist flag was not going to go well working with the National Guard.

Also we have some members of our group, and new types of members that we want, that are not in love with the goatse patch or with the name, specifically old military veterans. So as a form of deference I changed it for them.

A third reason is that we have actually been contacted by the police and questioned by them about this "Portland Liberation Army" that wears military-esque fatigues, uses realistic weapons and teaches military tactics from military veterans. All wearing a secessionist (fake that it is) flag. They brought one of us into the station and had us answer some questions. That right there is enough for me.

I am not terribly attached to anything in life. It is just a name, and instead of working around a name with the same acronym, I just picked on that worked. It was too much hassle and we have a lot of stuff we're looking forward to doing.

Yes, we're still the same lovable group of assholes. Yes, it's a new name and we're a different group.

Just a note on this that we're still recruiting, looking for people who will run to battle after respawn just as hard (or as much effort) the 100th time in the last round of a game as the first time in the first round.

For those who saw us, we were playing at Lord of War, wearing our signature Fancy Blue shirt and OD pants. A few were in solid OD.

A lot of CAG also had on green headbands, though out of 30 headbands, about 10 of them were CAG.

We have an upcoming training as well, if you'd like to further inspect us, with camping and two days. The days are not sequential so you can come to one, all or none:

For those interested in joining our Scout section and like to be part of a small group that operates on the idea of patience is a virtue send me a PM. You need to be in shape to run very fast for short periods of time, have a good knowledge of fieldcraft and good at cover and concealment.
My sword runs at 450 FPS, try to out run that! 35+ Sword/Knife Kills and counting.

Just a reminder that we're still recruiting and training monthly. We're having our Christmas Party this Sunday at Oregon Airsoft Arena in Hillsboro (http://www.oregon-airsoft.com). If you're interested in checking the team out, you should stop by. We've worked out a group discount so it will be $10 a person to attend instead of the regular $15 for arena play. We'll be upstairs in the offices and class room / party space.

We'll be having classes on gunsmithing, ghillie suit / stalker suit creation, CQB/MOUT tactics and more, as well as getting all of CAG together to discuss how the squads and team want to progress for 2011 and what we want to do and plan for in our monthly trainings.

If you're interested in the group, stop by, post here or PM me and we can talk. It'll be good to get a name to a face.

Also, we're at most events, just look for our signature Fancy Blue shirts or solid OD uniforms.

If you see any of us in our SOP uniforms, come stop by and introduce yourself, so we can put a face to a screen name.

We are a team with many options. We have reserve slots for those who have limited time and we have active squad positions for those who want to train every month and learn a lot of valuable skills. We have no age limit, but conscript people based on willingness to play fair and honest, play hard, and have a good time. We've got members from 11 to 54 in age.

A large group allows us to do larger scale training and military maneuvers (such as Platoon attack) and lets you work beyond the standard squad sized trainings available. Also it means that you'll have a few teammates at any game you want to attend, and all trained to the same doctrine so you can work together with deadly efficiency.

We'll be rolling out in force to Lord of War II for the Mehdi side, so if you're interested, come talk to us.

For winter training, I suggest you keep your head warm. A beanie would be fine. We also have some 3-hole ski masks leftover from Lord of War that are $4 I guess.
