Lets talk LiPo chargers!

So I have purchased a LiPo and a MOSFET which I am soon to install and now I am need of a decent charger. I have a budget limit of about $60 (absolute roof). If there is anything in the $50< range that would be sweet, but it needs a built in balancer because I don't want to spend $30 on a charger and then $28 on a balancer as well.

So show me what you are using and if you like/dislike it! Thanks guys.

I don't know if you want a charger that can charge NiMh too but that’s always a good feature I look for on chargers.


Check out Hobbycity.com they have a huge selection of chargers, 95% of them are Lipo chargers. Although you need to be careful as a lot of the chargers need power supplies which can be another $20-$30.
Since I don't think you want to spend $20-$30 on charger and then another $20-$30 on a power supply look for ones that can plug directly into a wall outlet with no power supply needed. Such as this one. Don't let the price scare you, contrary to popular belief cheap Lipo chargers don't burn down your house.

The one you are looking at is what I have and it rocks. I charge all my batterys with it, nimh, 2cell lipo, and my car battery. It will charge upto 6cell lipos and balance them at the same time, comes with a temp probe and usb cable to monitor charge status, it can use your car battery to charge your batts at long skirms, it can charge at up to 5amps. Like I said it rocks. I got it off of amazon too.

I got these batterys off amazon too, I have never had one die on me or even slow down a little, i got 2 because I switch batts at lunch time because if a lipo is drained too much it will not properly recharge and shorten the life of the battery.

A "venom lipo charger". Haven't seen it anywhere but Ebay and can't really post ebay links.

I personally use an AC6. Very good charger, for a very good price.

I have a porte charger, really compact size & less than $40. My socom gear charger from ASGI broke after a week & the quality wasn't too good.

Maybe it works for you so far that is but I for one wouldn't trust a $10 lipo charger.

Merchant, As for a simple Balancing Lipo charger that will not break the bank this one will do you well. I suggest you check out Airsoft Outlet NW and see what they have then you do not have to worry about shipping. Also they will be able to guide you to the best charger for your money. I just bought this exact charger and it works very well and until I have the money to buy a multi battery charger I will stick with it.
I also understand your budget is $60 but if you could wait and save another 35 you could have a charger that does everything.

I believe him, Those types of balancer chargers aren't that expensive and $40 is a pretty step price for something so basic. I think any charger over $30 needs the ability to charge NiMh to make it worth my while.

I don't know how it would? I've seen League 4's charger in person there's nothing wrong it. It balance charges his lipos just as good as my $55 all-in-one charger, although as you might have guessed not as fast.
