Li-Ion in airsoft

Postby cplkill » Wed Oct 20, 2010 11:08 pm

So, has anyone here ever bought/heard about someone buying a plain-old Li-Ion battery and using it for their airsoft gun, you know, Lithium-salt electrolyte held in an organic solvent instead of the solid polymer composites used in Li-Polys? Also, has that worked for said people who have tried it?

Making your own battery for an airsoft gun is more retarded than a black guy trying to play a white guy trying to play a black guy who wants to be a white guy.

Go to cheapbatterypacks.com and get a fantastic quality 9.6 NiMh for $25 and you'll be set.

I don't think he's asking on your opinions about whether this is a good idea.

Is it bad for safety reasons?

It not necessary, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.
Be inventive, go out on a limb, burn yourself, have a cool story to tell.

Chicks dig scars and horrible facial mutilations.

Just look at Danny Trejo in Machete. That was a mexican-american documentary worth seeing.

Well, we made it, and it works. It's pretty nice, actually.

I'll post 'em up later today when my dad gets back. BTW we didn't actually MAKE a battery, we just made a battery pack out of laptop cells. Multiple, actually. 1 nunchuck and 1 small, currently working on 1 more of both types. Just wanted to make that clear.

Sweet. If this tends to not back fire i will be impressed!

JOIN CAG! Your level of coolness is wanted.

Also, Do you have a charger to charge them? A few of our team mates have All around chargers that do all different types of batterys, and chargers the battery you have created.

Very cool, nice work. Cant wait for Pics.

If a laptop battery can be converted to an AEG battery, then it would also be possible to use cell phone batteries in theory... hmmm...
