My "SAR Tactik Rifle 2" wont shoot while battery is charged

Postby branden333 » Mon Nov 01, 2010 2:07 pm

I charge my battery on the correct setting and once it's done charging I put it into the gun. I fire about a half a mag and it just dies. Goes from firing like normal to not firing and just making a clicking noise when I pull the trigger. Never played with this gun in the field yet. It has been like this since out of the box. Anyone have any ideas?

What brand gun? Stock battery? Have you tried another battery?

Simple solution: Try another battery (not a stock battery).

Is the battery a 9.6V or a 8.4V? What charger are you using? I bet you're trying to charge a 9.6V with an 8.4V charger. The clicking noise you're hearing is the sound of the motor not getting enough juice to pull your spring back.

Battery is a 8.4v and I charged on both the 1.8a and the 0.9a settings and both still did not work. I tried my friends battery in my gun and did not work while it worked in his gun. I also tried my battery in his gun and it worked.

Is the gun new or did you get it used? Has it been "upgraded" at all?

Put your ear to the grip and pull the trigger (hold it for a second, but not too long). Do you hear a whine or a buzzing sound?

If so, your motor isn't turning, but it's trying to. Your gears might be locked up. Stop pulling the trigger before you break something further.

If there is no sound, your wiring might be bad or your fuse is blown.

Either way, take it to Jesse at Airsoft Outlet and get it fixed.

I did not hear anything in the grip. Just a click every time I pull the trigger. Also when replug the battery into the charger again and put back into the gun it work again but only for another half mag.

Might be your selector switch. Hard to tell now, your problem seems a little more complex to diagnose without seeing it. Take it to Jesse.

It could be any of the above mentioned - wiring, dead battery, motor height, gears locked... if you're not experienced with disassembling gear boxes I would bring it to AONW or to any expert.

According to Tenergy smart charger manual: For battery pack between 900mAh and 1800mAh, use low current level switch - charging rate 0.9A.
For battery pack between 1800mAh and 5000mAh - use high current level switch - charging rate 1.8A
You Fancy Huh?!

I had the exact same gun with the exact same problem, it usually happens only in the beginning then the problem just goes away, at least thats how it was for me,

This might sound dumb but if you haven't already, try firing it in full auto. You never said what type of gun this so I'm going to guess it's an m4. M4's have a bad tendency to "lock up" in semi-fire.

Might be that the spring is too heavy. That was the big issue with my M4. Fricking SOCOMGear put like, an M150 spring in a stock VFC gearbox...
