we are very open to any and all input.

I should know when we will be out there this weekend, and in the future when we will be out there, we will post it, so if people want to come hang, or help, they are more than welcome.

I personally would like something like TacTac closer to home. In short reasonable prices and rentals are all my friends and I care about.

Excited for you Chris! Would be glad to help...but you do need to be for profit for many reason, including build up cash reserves for those lean times and other unknowns. Most airsoft/paintball business fail after a short time because of money mismanagement and a no good business plan (except for those places that the Feds take over). Maybe I can help on the financial side; PM me and I can give you some references/credentials if you are interested.
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

I don't know if the MAJORITY of AP is against for-profit business. Maybe it's just that the guys who are tend to be the loudest. Ironically some of the folks who spread rumors and say things like "he just wants to make money" are rival business owners. It's kind of ridiculous.

I say... go make some money. Put together a service that's worth paying for, make a killing at it, and pat yourself on the back when you have success. You know, or just have fun. Whatever floats your boat.

I agree.

Do you have an estimate of how long you will be working Saturday? After Saturday, when will the next work party be?

How to get there?

I would love a new indoor arena. I just hope its closer to Ptown than the last one. A 2 hour round trip for CQC isn't my idea of fun ;)

I for one would love to see someone establish a Polished, High quality Airsoft for profit location in PDX.

I have seen many come close, Best of intentions and all that. What I wont do and what turns me off in a place is when they ask for ( and some times expect) comunity involvement in the establishment and running of the facility. what I am talking about is "build days" " Volenter Range Officers" and the like.

If I help out its a club, a hang out and place to have fun. Its not a place to work for no money, its not a place that I want to have to be involved with beyond dropping cash and having fun.

So to every one out there, If you want MY business then set the place up like a busuness, maintain it as a business and charge for the service like a business, To all Consumers.

This is not a soeley Airsoft related phenomenon, I Love the range at Douglas Ridge Rifle Club but I am not going to invest time in the club doing landscaping AND pay to use the range.

Airsoft Co-Op is not my idea of fun. I will pay the money if the facility is the Awesome.

And in My Opinion, All BS and affiliations aside. I thought PTOC had potentual.

My opinion is worth exactically nothing. I was selling Airsoft retail 8 years ago here in Portland, I met alot of great people before I ever started playing. I have stacks and stacks of business plans, Enough to "almost" compel a banker to loan funds for a facility. I have not done it, There is an outcry for the establishment of this level but not support for the endevor. the walmart mentality will always overshadow the proshop.

It's been my dream for close to 6 years to make airsoft my Livelyhood but I know if I did I would have to eat Ramen use the coffee ground 2 days in a row.

So go help build a structure and play for free and buy your stuff from Asia or outta the trunk of a car.

The more it changes...The more it stays the same.

Sorry so negative, It is a passion for me....one that I have had to walk away from.

Rogue,

I totally respect your opinion. I share the same opinion. When we had PTOC, we did have people help build, its true, but mostly because of the overwhelming amount of offers to do so, and at the time it was a blessing to receive the help, and it was able to get us off the ground faster. we also did have some people volunteer in the beginning, but towards the end we paid everyone. not as much as we would like to, but we did.

This time around i am afraid it will be more like what you are NOT looking for. Not so much a co op, but certainly not a business. Granted if the opportunity came to make it a refined polished business like the plan I have written, it would be hard to pass that up, but for the time being, but first priority is building the business that does support me, so that I dont have to worry about success or failure of PTOC.

Field fee will cover the amount the landlord wants, and we can circulate funds back into improvements, special events, etc. I realize I will not please everone with this project, but my goal is to provide the best experience to those who want to play with us.

I know this sounds mega stupid, but I dont have an address at this time, but will post asap...

Basically, it is in Gales Creek, just as Riddick mentioned in the other post.

Follow Gales Creek HWY all the way in to Gales Creek, and it is the massive metal storage building on the left. you cannot miss it, becuase it is about 30 feet high and about 220 feet long.

I am thinking that we will have the HUMMER at Airsoft Outlet around 10:30 and aim to be there around 11am. perhaps we can meet there, and we can provide a map to people who come later, at the store... I will have to check with staff there to make sure that is all good.

Remember This saturday is more of a showing, measuring, and mapping session. not so much a work day. more of a vision day, but we still would like all the input and excitement you are all willing to bring. when we actually put together the plan, we will be way more specific on the where, the when and everything else. Thank you guys for all your patience, and support, I am very excited, to knock the dust off my arsenal, and get destroyed by you guys out there.
