Event Organizers

Postby Muskrat » Thu Nov 11, 2010 8:14 pm

Is there any local games around the Portland Vancouver that are set up as a supergame?

If so I would like to talk with some of the people that made it happen. I have some legal questions about the property use. In the past I owned a paintball field and the insured through a liability company, now the field is shut down to public, just friends and family play there now.

Cutting to the chase
I live on a 250 acre farm and have a section that is 70+/- wooded acres with some fields along a river. I am wanting to put on a milsim style game. About 1 year ago a friend and I wrote a script for a large scale paintball game. It takes place in Colombia fighting the FARC.

If there is an interest in a game like this I will look into getting event insurance and a waiver. This is where I need to talk to someone about events.
Here is a sample poster of the game we drafted.

If it's period piece, Woodland for good guys

If it's current time, ACU's *should* be included, if not mandatory for the good guys.

Are people ready to pay $50 - $200 to play? Are there enough people willing to pay to support this level of event? I would pay an LC price tag for an LC level event. I'm also willing to travel far.
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

Price would be minimal, I am out for fun, not ripping people off. I have to cover my hard costs. Insurance, waiver cost........ enough people turn out and its $15 to $20 per person max. This depends on the turnout of course.

If the game was worth it, I'd pay from $50 to $200.

Anything to bring to level of game play up. I'd love to see a LC type game.

lion claws and other OP's like Irene have vehicles and a whole MOUT facility. multiple cinderblock buildings. a established township, with a church/mosuqe/place of worship, shcools convienence stores, stripmalls resturant. streets, alleys and major roads.

it is a high level production that takes more then a year of planning. i have personally watched Bill Youngblood put together some of this communities finest events such as the ever so popular CQC series, and i know what level of planning that took, this is a whole new ball of wax.

you cannot provide that level of immersion on a undeveloped wooded acreage of any size.

you going to build a town? not some shitty plywood and visquine town, i mean a MOUT facillity with multiple buildings with multiple floors, a working sewer system with access points? like rilea or camp wythicombe?

go look at what a real mout facility looks like.

you going to pave roads?

you going to buy expensive and extreamly controlled pyro for effects?

got any humvees or millitary hardware?

this is a great pipe dream though sir, i commend you on this.

it is obvious that people will pay for the level of immersion that OP lion Claws or Irene would provide.

morgan, he never said he wanted to run a lC type event. He asked about interest in a supergame aka a large player turnout event. It was other people that posted that suggested a LC type event not him.

He said at most he would charge $15 - $20

He asked: I am wanting to put on a milsim style game. About 1 year ago a friend and I wrote a script for a large scale paintball game. It takes place in Colombia fighting the FARC.

So where are you going with your tangent?

those are the super games rick.

if you want a skirm with 400 people, please dont call it a supergame.

premier events. large scale. full immersion. that is a super game.

that is what my tangent is all about.
if you think i am such a retard, and you are trying to figure me out, maybe you are thinking too damn hard.

He never said he wanted a Lion Claws event, that's other people. Looks to me like he wants to put on a mil-sim event. From what I have seen in the paintball industry, their definition of a "super game" is much different than our definition would be. 70 acres should easily support about 200 Airsofters, maybe 300 depending on how you plan it.

Muskrat - I've hosted games with up to 400 players, and some of these were in privately owned properties where I had to purchase insurance to use them. I'd be happy to answer questions or offer advice if you need it. Drop me a PM.

morgan I didn't say you were a retard.

Also given the fact he comes from paintball I am sure their supergame is our large turn out games. ops. whatever you want to call it.

example: warpaints supergame series which has a ton of players but I wouldnt called anything more than a skirm in production value.

It's a large piece of land we haven't played on before. And he says he wants to keep the price down to $15-20. Sounds fun to me!
