SCAR...again

Postby Strikerz » Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:36 pm

So ive had this problem before, BB jammed in the piston( Cannot confirm thats whats wrong but i believe it is) So anywho when i got home i took it apart and cannot for the life of me get the damn gearbox out. Its a DBOYS scar and also am not 100% sure how to re assemble it. When i fire the gun a you can hear a short electrical based sound. Its not the wiring. So if anyone can help me please do and if anyone has any knowledge on how to reassemble it please, feel free to leave a comment

If you REALLY want to take the gearbox out, look for pins and such in the side of the receiver and unscrew absolutely everything.

Not sure how it somehow got up in there but there is a small "window" in which the BB could have gone through. And i was using a tutorial on how to take it apart and some parts fell out that it did not mention

To get the gear box out of the lower on the DBoys/CA SCAR, you need to take 2 flathead screwdrivers, stick one on each side into the lower and then gently twist them them out until they are 90 degrees. Once they are at 90 degrees you should be able to gently pull the gearbox out. Doing it takes 3 hands, so help is a good idea.

I personally would suggest taking it to a tech since its a very very tricky thing to do.

Just take it to someone who knows what they are doing. The SCAR body is a bleeding headache to deal with. Trying to do it yourself will most likely result in a broken (more than it is) gun.

Older generation maybe? The Dboys SCAR-L I worked on came apart easily.

Well ive had this problem before, as noted in the title, and ive taken it to be repared by someone who is a "Professional" They figured out it was only a BB in the Piston and charged me 25 dollars. Well it is happening again. Im not going to take it back for more money just so they can fix it for a while. Whats suprising is that i chronoed it, and sometime between then and the game it jammed even though i didnt shoot it!

Where do you live? I'd be willing to work on it if you could get it to me. I've worked on multiple scars before including my own.

Here's why you shouldn't buy a China clone. Had it been a brand with better QC it would not have broken down and would actually save you more money in the long run.

the way i learned how to dismantle all my guns was watching reviews on how to do it online. find out what kind of gearbox it is and look for a video explaining how to take it apart and re-assemble it.
