they usually aren't awful, but you get what you pay for. the QC on most guns coming right out of china can leave something to be desired. the main reasons to buy an AGM gun is if nobody else makes a specific gun you are looking for, or if you are on a very tight budget.

For just a little more money, you can get a whole lot more gun.

The G&G Combat Machine series are hands and fists better than any AGM AEG and don't cost a whole lot more.
Well, you can start a new topic and get flamed for not searching, or you can search and get flamed for necro-posting. It's really your choice...

I think AGM is one of the worst ACM guns. But they are the only ones who make certain guns like MP40 or STG44.

I have to jump in here...

AGM's guns are pretty nice for $180 IMO.

I got mine from a bone yard because some bonehead ripped the tamiya connector off and Airsoftmegastore was to lazy to fix it.

The RIS was sturdy, the finishing nice, no barrel wobble and the pistol grip and retracting stock are made of nice plastic (not JG crap abs). My only gripe about the externals is that the paint comes of easily (revealing the dull metallic pot metal). It is actually a nice worn effect but some people may not like that.

The internals were actually pretty nice (for a Chinese clone). Metal bushings and spring guide were included, and the gears were actually pretty well shimmed. It also came with a high torque motor. The only problem I've ever had with it was the cutoff lever wore out (common V.2 mechbox problem) and it was an easy fix.

Accuracy was pretty decent (nothing to scoff at anyway) but the ROF was pretty bad (only around 13-15 bps on an 8.4v), however, the high torque motor gives you good trigger sensitivity (probably why the cutoff lever wore out so fast, I usually use semi exclusively).

It has been running for over a year with no problems besides the cutoff lever.

I've been using an AGM HK416 for almost two years now and I must say it is an excellent gun. It shoots ~360 after a fair amount of use, and it has survived getting dropped on a rock (and me falling on top of it in the process...). After having read the posts on this thread I'm wondering if my gun is unique compared to other AGM products, but in short I would say that it was definitely worth the $180 I spent on the stock gun.

EDIT: In answer to your question, yes it is a full metal gun; makes it rather hefty but I think you get used to it

I also think agm's are pretty good guns, My first aeg was an agm m14, only thing i ever had to complane about it was the wiring was backwards.. so i just poped the tamaya off and poped it back on there right.. lol

The thing shot awsome for 4 years. i sold it and the kid fell on it and bent the barrel, so i replaced that and still to this day the thing shoots just like it did when i got it in 2005

i would say all the china "clones" are like a hit and miss situation when you buy them, it doesnt really matter what brand eather..

iv seen some really nice Echo1 m14's that shoot awsome, that u cant belive are compleatly stock.. and i'v also seen Echo1 m14s litterally fall apart within a month and only shoot 60 feet.

Eather its going to last a week.. Or it will last for a really long time..
