What AEG should i get?

Postby GrodSki » Thu Nov 18, 2010 2:33 pm

Okay so i have been playing airsoft for a year with just a crossman pulse r76. I got the pulse r76 last Christmas because it was 100 bucks with
3000 bbs which sounded like a good price to me back then. I was wondering if you thing I should sell it on ebay and buy another 100-150 dollar airsoft gun. Right now airsoftgi has been offering some sweet deals and I have around 120 bucks. The pulser76 does a great job and I have a lot of fun but do you think it will die on me? So shoukd i stick with the pulser76 or get _________ <----(fill in the blank)

Get s Dboys AK.

If you want Bang for your buck, the AK will do it. Good gear box, cheap, high caps mag. And a Steel/pot metal design.

more specifically the Dboys AK 74. Not the greatest gun in the world, but for the price (125 if i remember correctly) it will last you a surprisingly long time.

Why is this posted in OFF TOPIC? The name of this website is Airsoft Pacific, you are asking about an Airsoft gun. If that's not ON topic, I don't know what is. Moved to an appropriate forum.

Do you play outdoors or indoors more? What is your style? If you are more of a longer-shot type of person, you might want a longer barrel? Do you play with any group? If so, possibly getting a weapon using similar magazines might help team cohesion or let you borrow mags while you still haven't afforded enough on your own.

Are you more interested in a realistic appearance, gearbox sturdiness or what?

With nothing to really work with on your question, I must make an educated guess and say that you need a Tokyo Marui UZI SMG AEG. You can get cheap realcaps for it from AtlantaAirsoft for about $6.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

In the $120 price range (give or take $10-$15 or so) you have your Dboys AKS74U, your CYMA M14, your JG G36c, and if you want to save some cash, and don't mind the all plastic body, your CYMA CM.028 AK47, dirt cheap, but lasts like a mofo (internally). I would personally suggest any of these to anyone, but the Cm.028 is all plastic so you are probably going to want to spend a little bit more and get one of the other ones.

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

Yeah ummm, i dont want to get another ak.... Cyma is just barely better than the pulser76 so thats a no go...

Heres some more info bout my play style: I play with my friends In a rural enviroment. The field we play on is about 50 yards (half a football field) and the bunkers are spread about 5 yards apart. I like to rush because its the most intense =) And we dont play that tactily.

Im thinking of going with a stockless aeg like a galaxy mp5. What do you guys think?

BTW sry bout the crappy spelling, im typing on my wii cuz my comp. is broke atm =[

Get whatever one you want, and don't let a bunch of strangers on the internet talk you into something you don't want. If you don't know what you want, try coming back after looking at some retailers.

So yes, the UZI. It has a fast motor, is small, has an extendable stock and the magazines are a breeze to change. You are on a very small field so you don't need anything too big.

1. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP. All too often we see the same exact questions come up from new members (What AEG should I get? What gear should I get? Is x better than y? When's the next game?) take a moment to look through the forums to see if there's already a thread on the topic you're interested in. We have a search feature, make use of it. If you post a thread that already exists, expect to gain some flak for it. Additionally, some forums have "stickied" threads at the top (like this thread), these usually contain valuable or frequently sought-after information so make sure to read those before posting. Many members of any forum find 'lurking' for a couple weeks extremely beneficial to their status within the community. Lurking is simply withdrawing from posting or replying to threads until you get a good feel for the atmosphere allowing you to better fit into certain niche.

I think you might be the only one here that owns a Crossman airsoft gun.
Or at least admits to owning one.
