Traffic/Safety Note about Scappoose

Postby Eyes On » Mon Nov 22, 2010 8:24 pm

This per the morning news: Apparently Hwy 30 between the St. Johns Bridge and St. Helens has seen a significant increase in vehicle accidents over the last few months. Several government entities will be having meetings in the next few weeks to determine what can be done etc... That basically means that you can expect extra police patrols and speed traps along the stretches of road leading into Scappoose.

Just a word to the wise to mind your speed while driving out there.

Also drive slow on that road leading into the field with the sign that says "Don't run over the retarded kids".

actually have noticed a major increase in speed traps heading that way for the last couple months, be aware if you are coming in threw linton its 30mph and they will nail you for it! be respectful of the neighbors on your way to the fields out that way, not everyone likes people doing 50 past their house, myself included.

The last game there, one of the home owners along that last road drove up to the field and thanked us for driving slowly. Please keep this in mind as you drive by there. We can be known as the group of assholes who fly through there not thinking of anyone's safety. Or we can be the group who people don't care about when 20+ cars drive by, because they know we aren't going to kill their kids.

On the note of safety. How are the roads in Scappoose, mainly the back roads?
With this much snow coming down and the below freezing weather are chains something to consider when heading out that way?
Kick me. I go "Moooooooo!!!!!"
