no i tried spinning them when it was put together, i think i found the problem though, i think its called my tappet plate, whatever is connected to the air nozzle. I think that its not being pushed back like its supposed to, because everything else looks fine.

Try pushing the air nozzle back and see if that pops the tappet plate into place. Or you might have to open it up and adjust it. OR, your motor adjustment could just be off. If you can spin the gears but the motor can't, that might be it.

This. (make sure red is to red and black is to black).
If that is what is happening your motor is attempting to spin backwards but is being held back by the anti-reversal latch (just doing its job) and results in heating up the motor and wiring (along with blowing fuses).
