ARES H&K G36 with LiPo

Postby Caboose » Mon Dec 20, 2010 10:37 pm

Does anyone know if the ARES G36 lineup is LiPo ready? I know ARES has some pretty good internals in their guns, but I can't find anything anywhere saying yes it is LiPo ready or no it isn't.

Does the motor really cares where it gets its power source?

Yes - you can use Lipo with the Ares G36

Will the internals on the Ares G36 survive the stress when using a Lipo battery?

Maybe for awhile but in the long run you may have to do some internal work. Experience with Lipo use may vary...

+1

I'd at least give it a re-shimming before throwing in a lipo, assuming that you are talking about an 11.1v.

@G36 FTW
I do plan on using a 11.1v LiPo.
so all I need basically is a re-shim? would I need to upgrade gears or anything or is re-shim all I need?

tjdrummer789, Honestly unless you are a well experienced tech you will probably do more harm to your gun and shorten it's life span if you attempt to shim it yourself. A friend of mine has an ARES ACR, he's been running a lipo on it for the past 4 months with no problems, other than a stripped piston, Which honestly I would wait until it breaks to replace it.

Your gun will last a lot longer than you think. It's not like once you plug a lipo in it, it's going to instantly destroy itself.

Just a re-shim will keep it running slightly longer, but from looking at the internals of my friends Tar-21 you might want to replace the piston for long run reliability.

You may also experience some wear-n-tear from the EBB so you may want to consider disabling it.

Wait... An ARES ACR?

And I have to agree with most of that, but I think he is looking for long-run reliability.

Yes, an ARES ACR: http://www.airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic ... highlight=

I don’t know how much you know about internals or how much you’ve worked on them, but Stock internals are not as inferior as you think they are. If you want “long-run reliabilityâ€

I've tested the Ares G36 models with an 11.1v lipo. They seem to be fine even after testing them on a single trigger pull, 450 round burst. Overall testing topped 3000 rounds on an 11.1v 20C battery.

The thing that I see on some Ares G36s is the gear shafts break, not the teeth. This doesn't affect all models, though.
