Echo 1 Scar vs. D-Boy Scar

Postby Slowgun » Sun Jan 02, 2011 8:20 pm

I've been wanting a Scar for quite sometime now, and I have narrowed it down to the Echo 1 and the D-Boy, because they are in my budget range. I would like to know what you're experiences are with either these Scars, or these brands. Do you like them, and why or why not? Thanks in advance!

So I'm no expert at this, but my guess is the people here will tell you to save up your money and buy from a higher-quality brand.
Personally, my experiences with E1 have led to my belief that they are a company worth working with, their stuff is usually pretty well-made and works well for the price.

Yeah most people would tell you to look at a G&G or a VFC SCAR. I haven't ever used a D-Boys gun, but I've had a lot of experience with Echo 1 guns, and I've always been very pleased. They perform very well for a stock gun, but you'll definitely want to get a tightbore barrel (I'm partial to 6.03's). And if you have a better battery, use that. Echo 1 stock batteries are total shit :?

Hope this helps :)

In a short while Cybergun aka Palco Sports is planning to license either the VFC or the G&G. They are leaning toward the VFC, but they have an agreement on the FN2000 with G&G already, so they might make more money with them. As always Cybergun could give two shits about the players, it's all about the $$$ to them. Thought honestly not either one in this case is horrible.

I own a DBOYS SCAR 2010 version and have never had a single problem with it. Shot 400 out of the box and have since put about 5000 rounds through it.

The echo1 is the Dboys, just rebranded and "QC"

Honestly, i would go for the Dboys, a team mate has one, its pretty nice all around.

They're the same gun, so what you said was completely useless.

Same gun. The only diff is Echo 1 throws in a warranty. If you intend on leaving the gun alone then spend the extra to get the warranty. if you're the open and upgrade type go for the Dboys since you would void your E1 warranty anyways.

Its worth it to buy the echo 1. I own a dboys and it came broken, i have had numerous gearbox and wiring issues. Please take my for it that the dboys scar is a very poor quality gun. I had the same reaction "Cool a cheap SCAR!" its just not worth the hassle

All airsoft guns are hit or miss. I've seen G&P and CA's fail right out of the box.
