KWA and Magazines...

Postby Morpheus » Thu Jan 06, 2011 7:47 pm

There is lots of chatter about KWA and how they are picky with some magazines.

Owning a KWA I've had odd performance with various magazines. The funny thing is, it loves high-caps. It will run just about any high-cap I put into the damn thing. Which, of course, annoys me to no end as most games (for good reason's I 100% agree with) don't allow them.

So, besides blowing $30 to $35 a pop on KWA brand mags, anyone have any mid-cap or even real-cap mags which for sure will work on a KWA?

Ditto on the Mag Midcaps and the Star Pmags (Both 30rd and 75 rd)

My Friends KWA hates MAG midcaps but loves my STAR and King Arms standards. And those are CHEAP!

The old shiny star pmags work perfectly with a slight modification to the bb catch. Also, the real magpul pts pmags m-version work absolutely perfectly and fit perfectly also!

OK, so everyone is suggesting MAG magazines. Then why in other threads to people bash on them? Mixed batches perhaps?

Ive heard that some mags may have molding defects so it makes it a tight fit, or not fit at all. Ive had no such problems with mine. But I cant speak for everyone else.

Hmm, a quick search on google brought up an entire thread on KWA compatibility with other manufacture's parts internal and external parts, including magazines.

My MAG brand work on and off, I guess if you don't fill them all the way they work. Also Classic Army mids work great.

Yeah, seeing how most of those are "user tested", I would take them with a grain of salt.

Especially since I have seen, first hand, no less than 6 KWAs not feed any magazine other than KWA highcaps.

Well I guess it is the luck of the draw :) sorry Morpheus!!!!

Bollacks, I say.

My KWAs and the other dozen people I've talked have never had this problem to this extreme.

Yes, there is a mag problem with KWAs. I've always worked around it with plastic mags and sandpaper when it's an issue. But only KWA highcaps? No.

Also, by the way, when you buy 8 midcaps like I did and 5 fit fine while 3 require sanding, it makes a guy wonder where the quality control really is problematic at.
