3pt sling for M14/SOCOM 16

Postby PdxChris » Sun Jan 09, 2011 3:08 pm

Ok, so I'm looking for a 3pt tactical sling for my SOCOM 16. I'd like something that is CST (Cross Shoulder Transition) ready. Below are links of a few that I found.

Just wondering if anyone out there has something like this for their M14/SOCOM 16 and what they think of it.

Thanks in advance for the advice...

I got a 3 point and was extremely happy with it. I would recommend getting one with a QD buckle so you can detach your rifle quickly if need be. Make sure it is one that anchors around your stock, not one that relies on the mounts.

I also have a Blackhawk! 3-pt sling that was actually designed for the M16, but it still works well on my M1A.

I have the AONW 3-point on my G&G m14 Socom. I like it, straps are nice and big. Putting it on was tricky because some of the straps aren't in the right position for me.
I'm 5'7" and the barrel doesn't hit my heels when I either tuck it under my right arm or over my left shoulder for storing.
As far as the CST goes I don't use it much, but the latch is big like the straps and it has a lip for easy hitting. Only real thing I can see thats bad about is transitioning is since the straps are so big you can get them stuck on the butt and returning the sling to your strong side you have to put both hands on the front cross strap to lock it back in place.
Kick me. I go "Moooooooo!!!!!"

I dont mean to piggy back but. Speaking if slings for the m14. Does anyone know a good 3 point for a EBR? The one from black hawk is to thick. I think I need one with clasps
Or something. The 1 point just isn't strong enough to handle that big rifle.
