Okay so my next question is how should i go about upgrading my M14 into a useful DMR? I used it as a DMR at the hells open gates op and it did me fairly well but everything can be improved!

These are some good internals that you could start out with:

M130 spring, Prometheus tightbore barrel, WarriorTech hop-up H-nub.

6.03 is fine. And with an M130 spring you're looking at being in the 450fps area. Right where a DMR needs to be. But the thing is with a spring that powerful you need to make sure your gun's internals can handle it. I question whether or not a CYMA M14 would handle that well.

Mhm i question it too...its my first gun and ive had it for a year or so but im starting to get serious about this great sport. Ive never actually looked at the internals out of fear of messing something up. All i know is that its a type 7 gearbox

G&G makes a complete gearbox for M14's so that's something you could look into.

Keep in mind that the limit for an AEG in this community is 400fps. Also, a 6.01mm barrel will yield better results over a 6.03 barrel. That topic has been covered numerous times. Jwip95, search through the forums and you will find the answers to your questions. They have been asked before and answered.

Some games do allow higher limits for DMR's, but they are the exception and not the rule. You will not be allowed to use a higher FPS gun at those games.

im fully aware of that there are tighterbores but there is the factor of the brand. Like promethius, PDI and madbull 6.03 are probably better than a 6.01 of some other brands.

Many factors go into a tight bore. Material, manufacturing methods, crowning,...

If you want a tight bore that will turn your gun into a DMR, than you want a steel, 6.01mm, 510mm long barrel. That combined with a good hop up bucking will give you the range and accuracy you want. Throw in an m110 spring (or 120 depending on the compression your gun has) and you'll have a 400 fps death machine.

You seem to have glossed over the most important part of Jester's post.

If youre talking about the semi-auto only rule for DMR's that shoot over 400fps, ive known about this rule for quite some time and it has already been taken care of.

No I'm talking about the rule, that at most games if it's an aeg the FPS limit is 400 FPS, full auto or semi. ;) The 450 FPS DMR semi rule is only for specific games.
