DMR loadout tips

Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

The last LOW allowed DM platforms but they required the full auto to be restricted and they marked the barrels with blue tape. That is the only one I have been to that allowed DMR's that I have seen.

Than you are looking at the exceptions, not the rule.

Unless otherwise noted (and posted in the event) the standard AP FPS rules are as follows:

AEG: 400fps measured with .20g bb
CQC (indoors/close quarters): 330fps measured with .20g bb
Bolt Action: 550fps measured with .20g bb

As you can see, there is no specific DMR category, therefore they would fall into the AEG category. Because there are so few events that go against these rules, you should build your platform to these standards. In addition, many games that use the DMR category limit the number of allowed weapons, and restricts who the users are. Since you are young and unknown to this community (and it's event hosts) you would probably not be allowed to use a DMR category rifle anyways.

Go ahead and build it how you want, but don't get pissed when the person running the chrono says you can't use your gun in the game.

I agree with Nasty. Make yourself a platform that makes you more of an asset on the field especially if you don't have a backup system to use if you are shooting too hot for the event.

I may be young but something tells me that taking the madbull m110 that i have and getting that into my gun (along with a tightbore, new hop-up and whatever else i might need internally) would be a much wiser choice. Thank you for your imput.

The 110 spring will put you under 400fps (or it should).

P7 and I are working on a Canadian Sniper team loadout. You guys will love it. We'll show it at LOWII. It's centered around a M82 that shoots a .87 Gram marble sized BB at 600 fps. We'll be laying inthe grass on the other side of the feeway.

I know it's allowed in most games cause I saw it once.

Why would it be? There's alot of useful information and there's been no personal attacks.

I think that FPS limits are too high on the bolt guns; I'm not a bolt expert but I'm under the impression that you don't need that much power to get a .34 out to a distance.
You're wrong. They're that high for a reason, and a lot of people are using .43s, which need all the help they can get getting out there.

That's not necessarily a personal attack. He just told you not to post shit you don't know about. Really it was quite nice in this community to have just that said to you. ;)

Why do people like DMR's, again? Just shoot under 400 and when you go out and play, take long shots. No need to label yourself something special. The FPS drops dramatically from the barrel to the target from that far out anyway. 450 isn't much of an improvement on 400.

Please don't flame me, it's already happened once before. I learned my lesson!!!!!

So if tightbores are so beneficial, why don't the companies that make AEGs usually supply their guns with them?
Im not trying to be a jerk, just seriously asking..
And if the issue is it wouldn't be profitable for them to install a barrel that precise, I would disagree since it seems this is one of the first things people are willing to pay a price for when "upgrading" their weapons.

And I agree Nasty, people like to feel cool/special. Me included.

I agree with nasty ^ and not only that but how fast the BB drops depends on the quality and compression of your gearbox (along with a few obvious factors like your hop-up) and nobody called DM's/DMR's "special", everybody has a role or has roles, whether it be assualt, DM, spotter, sniper, support, ect. everybody is special, so nobody is. ;)

I just think there's a perception that DMs are extra special or more skillled. I dont see lots of people being super proud of being a spotter or assault.

And sorry for not giving any helpful loadout advice, I just got interested w/ the whole TBB note.
