The cold + crummy batteries and gbb's

These look pretty cool! I'm going to get the Alpine one so I can airsoft in the snow (?). I could see that being really cool to paint over, maybe. Darn now I actually want it!

only downside in airsofting in the snow is there is a much higher risk to your gun breaking because most guns werent made to be fired in those cold conditions. if it stays at 32 degrees your probably fine but as it gets lower in temp you have to be cautious

Yeah. I think springers are the way to go in anything colder than 40 degrees because of the whole gas/battery thing.

I've played in sub-32 degree weather with no issues with both AEG's and GBB's. Yes, batteries may not last as long, that's why you carry a spare. I understand the issue with gas not working as well, but I've also used them with great success.

What do you mean by "the whole gas/battery thing"?

I'm a Canadian, And you can use a battery in -40*C/-40*F. It's called keeping the battery warm. :D

:edit: Derp.
Cheers to me being a dumby-brain.

On topic, I like that they have a Chechen rebel-esque loadout.
I think everyone's gotta have an OpFor loadout and there's really no reason to get anything fancy.

Sorry its just my stock batteries always die in the cold and I cannot get good compression on my gas in cold temperatures. Personal experience.

My 1911 doesn't work in any weather under 60 degrees. :(

I wouldnt agree with that. My KWA 1911 mark IV is great in any condition so far. I can get 2 and a half mags per one Gas reload

My WE High-Capa eats up gas faster than a Hummer H2 and Escalade combined. I get maybe .75 of a mag per fill. Unless it's over 70 degrees.

I know, its fine. Not dissing the gun, I know that you got two mags out of it sometimes. Gotta love the kick, though.

The new KWA guns (the Mk-whatever/PTP series) have much better gas consumption. It also depends on whether your 1911 is double stack or single.

The older KWA/KJW and WE 1911s went through gas like crazy. The partial reason I ditched both 1911s I've owned is that on the best day, I got maybe 2 mags out of 1 fill, compared with almost 6 with my 226.

I've heard great things about the new KWA 1911s, but the price keeps me away because for that price I can get a TM, which will ultimately preform better.

I ran my WE Browning Hi-power at -8 last weekend, it could go through about 10-15 rnds before it ran out of gas. I always use a Lipo now, but some guys up here use thier crappy stock batteries, and just warm them up between rounds. Quality guns and batteries will work fine down to -30.
