It's my understanding that the Navy already made concessions to the Marine Corps. AOR1/NWU Type2 is restricted to NSW only. While AOR2/ NWU Type3 will be replacing the traditional M81 woodland for all Naval Personal.

From the Navy...

OCCASION FOR WEAR OF THE NWU TYPE III WILL BE THE SAME AS THE CURRENT WOODLAND CAMOUFLAGE

You'd have to ask someone in the Navy, to find out who is currently wearing woodland.

Here's the whole quote.
B. THE NWU TYPE III WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING TRI-COLORED WOODLAND
CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY UNIFORM AND WILL BE THE STANDARD CAMOUFLAGE UNIFORM WORN IN
CONUS AND CAN BE WORN DEPLOYED AS PRESCRIBED BY COMBATANT COMMANDERS.
OCCASION FOR WEAR OF THE NWU TYPE III WILL BE THE SAME AS THE CURRENT WOODLAND
CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY UNIFORM PER REF A, COMMANDS AND SAILORS CURRENTLY
AUTHORIZED TO WEAR THE WOODLAND CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY UNIFORM (CUU) WILL CONTINUE
TO WEAR THE CUU AS THEIR PRIMARY DAILY UNIFORM UNTIL THEIR TRANSITION TO THE
NEW NWU TYPE III

This group of sailors dosen't look like NSW tho.

Looks good, I also like the pocket location. Seems odd at first (on front of thigh), but probably more accessible than the sides that you have to bend down for.
Is that a new layout for the pockets or have there been others like that?

Definately a neat pattern. I have been looking for something reasonable other than stereotypical Marpat or woodland for oregon battles (considering Tiger Stripe)
This, I would certainly go for I think.

FUUUUUUUUU

I like AOR3. ;) Regardless, as of now, AOR# is restricted for civvies. I've confirmed that through Crye when they told me to screw off :'( for that reason.

I don't know when they will be in, not that I have asked. I stay updated on the NAVADMINs, a release on the type 3s should be mentioned there when and where they are released.
