I hate being in front of the camera, but if you do come to an Oregon event for the show, I'd be happy to run my rig as a second camera for you.

That'd be great. We're looking into each of us (there are 3) getting those new HD GOPRO camera's for our AEG's or heads. We figure the more cameras the better, right? Good talking to ya, Matt.

Hey Shifty. Sorry it wasn"t to your liking. We're not trying to be badasses. We are simply trying to help promote the sport, which we love, in a positive and entertaining light. If you have any constructive feedback, I would absolutely love to hear it. It's the community that is going to make our project better. Not us, alone.

I'm curious about how the go-pro stacks up against the ContourHD. The contour seems to be a better fit for a helmet or a gun, considering it's shape. I'm offloading my old helmet cam to get one of these, just can't decide which one... yet.

I've been looking into the two cameras myself. From what I've gathered the ContourHD is a better buy.

I think we should change the name of the mag well to clip receiver. It sounds more tactical.

Seriously, though, for your 3rd video, that wasn't bad. Keep going at it and keep improving.

Which one would take a BB to the lens. I guess that's the question to ask.

The Go-Pro has a polycarb case that is near indestructible. My cousin has crashed his on his mountain bike many times. I recently got a GoPro for Christmas, and will be taking it on the field this weekend at the PSC game. I haven't shot it yet though.

The nice thing is that you can choose the definition. From WVGA @ 60fps up to 1080P @ 30fps. The case is also water proof (I used my cousins for scuba diving down over 100' with no issues. The case has 2 backs, one that has sound holes (and isn't water proof) for use in dry conditions with wind less than 100mph. The solid back is for water tight/high wind environments. Accepts up to a 32gb SD card, and a battery will last about 2.5 hours (spares are available). Rumor has it that they are making an LCD screen backing for it, which would be cool.

Here is a video I made using footage from the GoPro and Windows Live Movie Maker. I'm sure the more experienced people out there could make something much better (but hey, it was my first time...):

Go to :40 seconds into that video, my cousin crashes pretty hard. The case got scratched a little bit, but the camera ran just fine. I love the little thing. Trying to find a viable mounting option for a gun was a little difficult, but I'll probably run it on my head anyways. They also make a chest harness for it also.

Also, I've noticed a plethora of these cameras at both the Winter X-Games, and the new episodse of MythBusters. So, that's gotta mean something...

The contour just seems to be a better shape for this type of use.

@Airsoftriot:
Your show isn't bad. A few suggestions though. Try to dress the part, think firearms instructor from a Magpul video...
When you interview someone, coach them ahead of time so that they don't come across looking/acting like some kind of suburban militia ultra-redneck.

Otherwise keep up the good work.

First off, thanks Juice - Variable. We appreciate the words of encouragement. We just started shooting this on Jan 16 and next thing we knew we were like, we need to get organized or the wheels are going to fall off of this. We'll get it down. I think our scripting, or lack there of, is definitely a weak spot. You're exactly right, Variable. But, if you're going to pass judgement on someone, (ultra rednecks)wait until you get to know them first. Prejudice is an extremely ugly flaw of the human condition. Those are my friends. As far as the cams go. I just picked up the GoPro today. Got it mounted to my SCAR and it's game on for tommorrow. We're going to try to post this footage on Thursday so cross your fingers, everybody. I looked at the Contour too while I was at REI. It's $20 cheaper and much more low profile than the GoPro. I wanted the GoPro because of forehead and possibly torso mounting, and the protective-waterproof case. But on the rifle it really does stick out quite a bit.
