ak mags

Postby Toan » Sat Feb 12, 2011 9:44 am

looking for a box set of some real good ak mags, ive tried the MAG brand but i always get a set of bad ones, they always shoot the bbs out of the top of the mag when something touches them. for example, if i have all my mags in my pouches and they bump a tree when im in a game all the mags shoot the bbs straight out of the top and all into my face, its quite annoying.

has anyone had any experience with king arms mags?

let me know, thanks in advance.

Strange, I've never had a problem with any MAG magazines. Are you sure you weren't just getting the release switch caught on something? I have a king arms mid cap I think laying around and it works fine, however, its for an M4. Can't really say for sure as to the quality of the KA AK47 mags but I'd wager to say they would be alright.

When you load the last bb, push it in with a tool/finger and push the release latch as far over the bb's as you can. This, along with only loading 95% of the full capacity, will help you avoid your bump'n-spray problem.

yea ive tried this, the bbs do go down but the latch doesnt move further out like i would think it would. even if i hold 1 mag in my hand and i just tap it with a pen the bbs will spray out like crazy.

Could it be that the spring is too strong and it's just using the bb to push the latch out of the way? How long have you had this mag for?

about a year or so, ive wasted alot of bags of bbs, even when they are empty the latch is in the same place as if they were filled. i also have MAG brand mags for my m4 but those work very well and i have never had a problem with them. and i play every other weekend so i would assume that the spring in the ak mags would be at least pretty used up by now, so im ruling out that the spring is too strong.

Do they do it filled up to 90% ?

Wow, that'd suck. I guess my only suggestion is to not use an AK?

That's a terrible suggestion.

I've used MAG and TM mostly. The only problems I've had with the MAG metal 47 ones are that they need to be smacked around a bit to feed right.

It sounds like you just got some bad mags. Not all MAGs are like that. In fact none of the ones I have/had are like that.

Get Real Sword mags. Sure they are spendy, but they are built amazingly well. I've yet to have an issue with any of my 7 RS mags.

My Classic Army AK midcaps worked awesome, you just have to lube them up every other game or so. But usually the Real Sword mags are the same price, and they are really good quality.

I found that three really good mids are better than 10 not so good ones. Learn to control your fire.

AONW has the best deal for Real Sword magazines.

Like Jewish Ninja said, their spendy but they're 100% worth it. I have one and I love it. I would have more but I can't afford them, so I use AKM Bakelite MAG mid caps. They work fine for me after I broke them in.
