JG Gearbox should do upgrades?

Right, well, I have these gearbox parts from a JG and am going to put it back together. I am buying new wiring, new spring set(I think I lost a few of them), new shim set, same thing lost'em, plus the shimming sucked originally anyway, and yeah.. I have stock gears, they seem to be in OKAY condition. piston, bleh, may buy a cheap but nice-ish replacement. Spring... Keeping it stock.


Parts I'm unsure on, Tappet plate? Worth upgrading or does it really matter? Air nozzle, piston/piston head? Cylinder too? How are stock JG Pistons/cylinders?

The tappet plate should be find as long as there is nothing physically wrong with it. The cylinder assemblies are sub-par and you might have compression issues. Don't go out and buy a bunch of overpriced stuff like Systema though. A decent cylinder and maybe one of those nice sorbothane cylinder head sets from ASM will do you just fine. As for the air nozzle I like to use Guarders but thats just an opinion

JG cylinders are fine, their air nozzles, piston, piston heads, not so much. You want to get a weaker spring and focus more on air seal. This will give you a higher ROF and you don't have as much tension (easier to put together/take apart). Also, get it reshimmed correctly for maximum consistency and for the sake of your gun.

Don't forget to correct AoE and Re-Grease as well
