No offense psuedo but I disagree with your logic. Saying that using a lipo is making the gears exert more energy is incorrect. It is like using a car to make you body move faster, you are not expending any energy the energy is just being transferred through you. Okay slightly bad analogy, The point is that the gears themselves contain no energy but yet that energy is transfered through them like water through a dam. The only effect a faster spinning motor can have on the gears is making them spin faster. And do to that that they will hit that point faster than gears that are moving slower due to the differences in time.

Vamp, does the pinion and bevel gear look worn?

pseudoanimosity wrote:I understand what you're trying to get at here, but your reasoning is incorrect. An 11.1 LiPo battery puts more electric energy into the system to make it move faster, which yes, does increase the rate of fire, but it is more strenuous on the gears because they have to exert more power (energy) in order to achieve this higher rate of fire.

The force imparted on the gears is not eletrical power. The pressure on the teeth of the gears has to do with the spring tensions, not the speed at which they rotate. If what your saying was ture gears would break if they rotate 100,000,000 RPM under no load.

Completely true. Just switched over to a LiPo not too long ago and the only thing it does is add significant speed to my trigger response and increase my rate of fire. No real wear and tear that I can see when I opened it up recently.
