suggestions for a new gun?

Postby binicb2r » Sat Mar 12, 2011 10:05 pm

I have a JG G36c right now and it seems to be going down hill in a bad way. its relatively old and has been through hell and back.

i have been out of the loop for a bit and i am starting to look for a new AEG. something fairly unique but reliable and something a college student can afford. any suggestions?

What kind of gun do you want?

G&P M4 (just incredible in every way)
Dboys M4 Full Metal (cheaper, still good)
Dboys AK (nice quality, cheap, upgradable, AK's)

Anything else is up to you.

thanks for the suggestions. i didnt really know what brands and styles people though were good. i love the G36c for its compactness and feel. i am more used to the M4 platform since i compete with one in 5.56.

probably looking at 200-220. only paid 116 for my jg. i have plenty of batteries and a charger for them. that cuts cost down.

dont go though much ammo usually so maybe 1 or 2 more mags. so, say, 250.

no way any m4 i get will not be full metal.

im used to full metal. real steel stuff; so plastic m4 is out of the question.
sorry, that above was kind of a round about way of saying full metal or nothing.

oh man. an AK? horrible ergonomics for me. horribly uncomfortable. =)

DBoys and AGM are the two main companies producing metal M4s for under $220. Both can be found for ~$160.

AGM:

DBoys:

However you might want to save up your pennies, because G&P makes one of the BEST M4s on the market for around $250. The body is made out of aluminum instead of pot metal (unlike the AGM and DBoys) and the internals are far superior. If I were you I would save up a little more and get one of these.

G&P:

Just know that if you get a G&P you need to get batteries and a charger with deans connectors instead of the usual tanima ones (you can also get someone to convert your current batteries to deans as well).

I've had a CA sportline m4 forever and have used it a crap load in CQB. It works like a charm but wobbles like crazy but that's probably because i've taken it apart about 1000000 times. A G&P will be tight for your budget but will totally rock your world. I own one and it's as solid like a rock and performs better then any other gun i own.

You can get a G&P M4 for $227 or so shipped from ASGI.

As with all things airsoft, you get what you pay for.

Which is why TOP M60's, PTW's, and WA M4's are so expensive...

I made the mistake of buying one without a full rail system. I think this will do you enough good, and sorry about your G36...
