Hard_Drive wrote:Most of the game was pretty slow for me. However, I did get my best hardest earned kill though. Me and a few others were in spawn point 2 (or whichever one was running next to the creek below the hill). We spotted one guy at the top looking down on us and then he disappeared when a large contingent of our forces were swinging around to take our base back. Later I found out that they were slaughtered. I thought I would go up that steep, muddy hill and see what I could see. So I dropped my M4 and decided to use my Mac11. In hindsight I should have just taken the M4.
When I got to the top I didn’t see anybody, so I continued to the orchard. Then I saw our slaughtered teammates gathered in a group with about 5 of the enemy taking cover behind trees and probably waiting for more to come from the same direction as the other teammates. So I got a little closer and made sure my Mac11 was on full. I’m pretty sure at least one of them saw me but since Marpat and Woodland look the same when covered with mud I’m sure they thought I was one of their teammates. When none of them were looking at me I opened up. I got one kill and then my mag ran out of gas. So I did what any brave warrior would do in that situation. I ran like hell back into the forest with 1 or more guys on my tail. I’m 6’2” and about 250 so I’m sure it looked roughly like a hippo running to the river to munch on some river grass.
With little white bbs flying all around, I ran (and slid) back down that hill. I changed mags in my mac11 and was able to fire back a couple of times. Then as I was reaching the bottom my team put down cover fire for me.
If you were one of the guys chasing me and you hit me on the back, I apologize as I was so filled with adrenaline that I’m sure I wouldn’t have felt just about anything short of a real bullet.
Thanks to SOTA for hosting the event. I just wish the weather was a little better.

I still think you should get mad style points for this effort. It was amazing to watch from the sector 2 spawn point as she quietly crawled up the hill, then we heard a couple shots and watched you scramble down the hill followed by a few guys. I was glad to provide cover fire for you to get out.

Fun game.. The four of us, had some good times and good kills. Even if they were on our own team.
We finally gave in during the monsoon of the third round.
Fred, where is the pics?
Thanks SOTA, we will be back next year...

APST decided that we were carrying too many "Dirty Bombs" and had to get rid of them, what better place to do that than the village where everyone was at?

Turns out that we got some kinda nuke out of that little decision. Not a bad way to wrap up the day.

My apologies. Fred linked to that in chat last night saying they were already up so I assumed those were his.

Sweet!

Postby book42 » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:06 am

Great game. All in all, I had a blast. Dirtiest game ever! And those seemingly sweet "little" creeks... I took a spill in one and was up to my groin in cold rain water! I immensely enjoyed some of the firefights in the groves. We would have had A.P.S.T. at one point if it weren't for the damn medic! :D Albeit, I liked that -- spoke with, I think, Shogun, who was runnin' as medic for A.P.S.T. after the fight, and he explained the situation.

Great game. Thank you S.O.T.A. Happy birthday Ash. It was a pleasure runnin' with everyone.

Hopefully I'll be out again in a few months.

Best regards,

Muddy awesomeness. Although I was at Missle silo bravo all day I barely seen anyone all day except when A.P.S.T. rolled up and killed the few BZ operators that were there.

I did manage to snap some pics of APST and will try and get them up once I get home.

Snowman wrote:I had a great time. Dunedain Ragnars, I'd definitely run with you guys anytime, and it was fun, especially "getting into it"...literally. lol, aside from being covered in mud from head to foot, it was a great time. The objectives were clear, everybody was polite (for the most part: don't call other people's hits, pleeeease...), and the final village fight was pretty epic. It was awesome to see the Company moving through the trees, eradicating all opposition!

I can't wait for AB5, but Ash, can ya please change your Bday to sometime warmer and drier? ;)

Today helped me decide that I utterly despise MP5s, as well, so it was a win-win day. :D

Moar meediuh?

Thank you for rolling with us Snowman!
You did hell of a job!
Thanks :-)

This was possibly the best event the Dunedain Rangers have ever attended.
THANK YOU SOTA for hosting such a fun OP!!!! :-)
Also a BIG THANK YOU to Infidel!!! We couldn't have don it without you!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! cant wait to work with you again!
Snowman thank you for rolling with us, you did a hell of a job!
One of or our favorite things was the adrenaline shots! Those were amazing! We really hope to see them used in future games.
All in All I really don't think we could have had a better time!!!
The only problem is that we will have to wait a whole year for AB-V ;-)

WHAT!? ASIDE FROM!?

You clearly have your priorities off if being covered from head to toe in mud is not one of your priorities. The more of the field you bring home, and the more of yourself you left there, the better the time you had...there are no exception! :D

I wish I could have been there with you all.

Amen to that! :-)
I think the we must have brought home half of the mud on he filed! ;-)
