Gas Sniper Rifles in the NW

Postby Tactical Church » Thu Apr 07, 2011 2:39 pm

Now i already know from experience with my gas pistols that the cold weather here in the NW is not perfect conditions for the gas usage and function of a gas pistol.

What i am wondering is if this is the same truth for gas sniper rifles. In particular the G&G G96

The problems with any gas operated platforms is that the weather temps affect too much of their performance. The only real stable/reliable way to regulate it is with a hpa/regulator system.

People that have taken the time to mod their platforms with these has seen much more consistant results with fps irregardless of outside weather temps.

my KJW M700 works great on propane, so long as it's not too cold. its not a feasible shooter in the winter, but spring and summer i have no problems with consistency or operation.

Well thats good to know. I am considering a trade for the G&G G96 and i was considering wether it was worth it. Also I just read Ka-Bar's post on how terrific the echo 1 M28 model was.

My next question to be answered is if that if i am wanting a sniper should i just wait and go for the echo M38 or should i do this trade the G&G G96?

the G&G is a heavy bastard. similar system to the KJWs though, and i know there are replacement and upgrade parts by G&G.

a spring platform is probably a better bet if you are looking at getting into sniping. the gas guns are for later, once you decide if you like it or not.
