G&G FN2000/ F2000/ G2010

Postby Sahronax » Sun May 22, 2011 6:59 pm

I spent twenty-odd minutes searching with various permutations of this gun and found nothing very helpful, so here goes-

Does anyone have any experience with this replica? Was it a good experience? Would you recommend it to anyone else? Basically, would this be a 'good' gun to buy?

etc, etc, etc.

EDIT: Since originally posting this, I have already purchased and used the gun, so anyone who is hoping to be helpful and answer my original question might get someone yelling at them. Just a disclaimer...

I've always Like the FN2000; I had a JLS 2000 when they first came out way back when.

I got to shoot the G&G recently, the feel was amazing although after handling it for a while it seemed too bulky and reminded me why I sold my JLS. Everyone I talked to said the battery space was small, I protest to this as I was able to fit my ZIPPY 2200mAh 11.1v Lipo in the battery space with no trouble at all. The FPS on his was a bit low even with FPS adjuster turnout all the way in, ~330 FPS but the reviews say that shoot around 360.

They seem like good replicas, although if you have never held one before I would hold one before you buy it as they are a lot bigger then seem.

I swapped guns with a guy who had one (just for a round). Anyway, the thing fired great but...

-It was huge, and chunky. Even chunky-er than my friend's tar.
-It sounded like it was going to keel over (die) at any second.
-The two stage trigger was.. a little odd.. It wasn't terribly responsive on semi-auto, but if you use full auto that shouldn't be a big deal.
-The charging handle annoyed me.

If you can get past those things, you're set. Although I cannot vouch for it's reliability, as I only borrowed it. It was one solid chunk.

Do you know of anyone experiencing troubles with the fact that it's effectively a semi-hollow chunk of effectively plastic? That seems a little too fragile but I guess it works, has anyone heard otherwise? It's one of my major concerns...

G&G uses really nice plastic in their guns, so that shouldn't be an issue (Just look at their combat machine series, really nice stuff).

EDIT: Uh-oh... 1000th post.

It is fairly tough, the G&G is solid.
Keep in mind, it is like shooting a chunk of beef. Like a half dozen pack of flanks with a rail and flashider.

They work, but came shooting a little hot (IIRC). With some internal work, they are amazing weapons.

It's thick. Thicker than a P90. About as thick as an M249. It isn't bad, but takes some getting used to.

Okay so necro, but I figure it's my own post so I'm allowed to.
I'm finally getting around to ordering this gun tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had any news on it. It has been out of stock on several retailers' websites, which tells me that it's either a popular gun or the airsoft industry's paranoia over SB 798. I like to foolishly hope it's the former.
Unfortunately there are no airosft retailers anywhere near here and I have never had time whenever I run up to Spokane, so I wasn't able to hold one for myself. I'm just going to have to trust that I will like the feel of it, which I'm confident I will, but it's all the less-subjective stuff I'm concerned about.

Keep in mind you'll have to slightly modify midcaps to fit in this gun.

I know, I've heard many things about non-G&G mid caps not fitting properly.
Helpful video though, thanks

Wooooo, twice necro on my own post :-D

Just sharing that I recieved my G&G FN2000 recently. It's a pretty awesome gun, very quiet, and if I were less lazy I would take a picture and post it and figure out how to effectively write a helpful review on it and write one... But, woe is me and my summer laziness...
