League 4, what better gun could i get for $400?

A G&P M4 variant with some SHS gears, a steel tooth rack piston, madbull blue bucking, and maybe a tightbore. That'd be around $260, $290 with the tightbore... And you have an extra $110 for mags, a RIS, etc.

I bought a KWA M-16 2 years ago. I immediately switched it to lipo. Then I bought a KWA SR-12. I switched it to lipo. 11.1's if you're curious. I play 10-12 times a year and average 5,000 BB's a game. In that time, I've had the two of them break four times. Two were catastrophic failures of internal gears. One was a tappet plate and the final one was a single gear losing a tooth. All but the tappet plate were the result of malformed BB's going through a tightbore barrel, jamming, and then having another 10+ BB's slam into it from behind which caused the piston to not be able compress fully and...boom.

Riddick and I are now buying expensive BB's. So, to the OP, yes, you can run lipo's on KWA's. But be careful. Things happen fast at that ROF.

Having said all the above, would I buy another KWA? Hell yes. I can't count the number of times I've either been confused with a SAW or had players from the other team come up to me say something along the lines of, "That thing is scary."

It's pushing the gun--any airsoft gun--to the limit, but if you're willing to pay the price in original purchase, upgrades, BB's, and the occasional fix, it's good fun.

Thank you ogre. Thanks for the straight forward answer. I am willing to pay for upgrades and repairs. I'm used to it. (RC repairs) (I recently paid for two tires with rims, for an RC!) I won't be full auto much. I play semi auto, but for those few times I really use full auto, I need that rof. Also, lipos give better battery life.

I'm pretty sure you can get a good LiPo to fit in your buffer tube. IIRC, Jester316 has one, or at least knows a lot about LiPo batteries. Try searching for "buffer tube LiPo" or something.

Maybe it will fit, but it might be tight. I have a similar Socomm lipo that fits, but is a pain to get out.

I'm using this battery in my SR10 and it fits perfectly (obviously). And it's cheaper.

For the OP, KWA recommends 15C max for lipo batteries in their guns.

You'd pay $60 for a lipo? Wow... Even the $50 one wurger linked is a lot. If you shop for RC car type lipos you can get them for WAY cheaper than that. Sites like hobbyking have them.

I would pay $60 for a lipo. I have RCs and I would never run hobbyking batteries in my RCs, I'd rather get a much more expensive battery that is higher quality and that I know has had some Q.C. Besides, I'm looking for the two stick configuration.

I have been using the AONW buffer tube LiPo's in both my SR-7 and SR-12 with great results once I downgraded back to 7.4. The 11.1 tore up the gearbox on my SR12 twice the first time with only three magazines being ran through it. KWA fixed that and after a particularly long day of trigger time it gave up the ghost again. When I took it apart the roller bearings had disintegrated and caused the gears to shift effectively locking the gearbox. I loved the ROF but in the end I hate having weapons down and I still have great range and reliability with 7.4's

I love my KWA m4 so I reccomend. Lots of good advice already spoken here. Do watch out for blown fuses though. Pick up a couple at a radio shack just in case.

Alright, with all of this great advice, I am now going to get the sr10. Along with it, some 9.6v nimh. I can get more for the price and they are a median between 11.1v and 7.4v.

a steel tooth rack piston -> No. A G&P white is IMO the best damn piston out there (except the Prommy hard of course)

madbull blue bucking -> Also no. Prommy purples are way better

and maybe a tightbore -> Yes but 6.03-05

That'd be around $260 -> Actually with this new frugal/more effective list you'd run about $70-$80 for parts and however much for the gun.

+ You can rid yourself of all the lovely incompatibility issues you will undoubtedly face down the road.

I have had no experience with the SR12 model, but i have owned 2 KWA m4s before. I have never had one break, i have never had one lock up and i have never had one malfunction even once on me. I run 11.1 lipos in both of my guns.
