Echo 1 vs Classic Army

Postby Riggs » Wed Jun 22, 2011 2:40 pm

So I am in the market for a MP5k. I don't want a Well or a Galaxy, and I don't want a Tokyo Marui because I prefer a metal body. Both the Classic Army Version and the new Echo 1 version have metal bodies, and are similar in price. Does anyone have experience with either of these weapons? How do people feel about the quality of the new, higher priced Echo 1's?

Thanks!

I had an Echo-1 Mp5k, it was fairly nice, but after a while the upper reciever/rail cracked near the stock. That could have been the fact that I bought it used.. I'd buy the CA

Heh. Good luck finding a CA. I got mine a while ago, and it's been great.

The E1's are okay, but just bad overall construction.

My PDW is awesome for CQB. Its rate of fire coupled with the excellent ergonomics make it an awesome piece.

two guys on my old team had mp5s, one was echo1, and the other was classic army, they said they both loved them, i prefer echo1 becuase alot of people think its crap, its only crap when it is stock, if your add a better motor, gearbox, spring, etc. it will be one of the best out there.

Echo1 pros:
-cheap
-easy to find parts
-widely adaptable magazines
-most parts are universal
-good starter guns

echo1 cons:
-stock chargers "cook" your battery
-stock internals are crap if you inted to fire full auto
-stock barrels are really bad, i sudjest tightbore

so in my opinion, classic army, you wont get as "made fun of", if you will.

Classic army pros:
-fair price for the quality
-easy to find external parts
-good feel
-stock chargers arent bad
-one of the oldest brands around(more experience per se)

Classic army cons:
-shoot funny(in my opinion)
-groupings are VERY inconsistant, one again, tightbore or smoothbore
-shooting is inconsistant, bang...bang...bangbangbangbangbang...bang...bang

Poebot,

how is the accuracy with your CA PDW? Also, did you ever try taking out the charging handle to fit a longer battery in?

CA makes one of the best MP5 replicas on the market. If you can afford it, why would you NOT go with it?

Jester, does that apply to their MP5 PDW's as well?

The CA PDW was the nicest one available by far. Better internals and externals than the Echo1. The CA PDW actually took aftermarket parts like it should. A bad motor could explain the funny shooting described above, but the CA ones were top tier.

The Echo1 Metal MP5k is a rebrand of the CYMA Metal MP5k (the CYMA is only sold overseas). The CYMA MP5k is clone of the Classic Army MP5k. The Classic Army is of course of better quality and the CYMA is just a cheaper option. If you have the money for the CA, get the CA.

Echo 1 = CYMA. Not necessarly a bad thing, because CYMA is building decent guns now, but Echo 1 is overpriced. Get the CA. :D

Accuracy, is perfect for CQB. ROF is great, and it's light enough to use as a back up weapon.

I think (from personal experience) that the echo 1 mp5k preforms the best, but you cant use it for cqb because the high fps, and the realism isn't that great. As for the Classic Army mp5, I don't know...
