I did almost all those mods in my ASGI G4, and the range on it is very impressive.

Woah, I did a few of the hop-up related things in that guide to my M14 in the last day or so, and holy crap, it works.

Made my own hop-up nub out of a dremmeled BB (similar to the one he was showcasing), dremmeled off the bucking nub, added spacers to the hop-up unit and polished the barrel.

It was about time I fixed my M14's range, but now it is beastly accurate as well. I'd also recommend that guide to the OP.

TEFLON TAPE.
I just put some into my 1911, (I know, GBB is different) and it helps with air seal. I recommend putting it around the hop up unit/barrel junction.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned an SCS nub yet. After installing one (and no other upgrades) in my G&G Combat Machine M4, I saw a significant increase in range and accuracy.
I'm a "fair weather" airsofter. I only play in the pouring rain, freezing cold, or broiling heat.
