What's the advantage of Deans? (noob alert)

they make your guns shoot faster and farther. They up your FPS by about 20 or so.
Plus they make you cooler.

I have also heard rumors that in Independent Japanese testing that they may also make you a better airsoft player.

On top of that they also make your tool bigger and release ferimones that make women wet at the mere sight of you.

Though they won't do anything to make you actually last longer, so if you're a 2 pump chump, that's not gonna change.

All jokes aside I find that they have the biggest benefit is battery life over ones mini tamiya connector since small tamiya plugs have a ton of resistance. So Deans can really benefit if you are using a small type battery.

So the over all benefit is less resistance which will give you:

Better battery life
Slightly better ROF especially with mini type batteries (Yes I have tested it)
Overall more efficient electrical system for your AEG
And a bigger hot dog

For me, it's knowing that my stock will shatter before the connector does (Tamiya plugs look really flimsy to me) and knowing that they won't disconnect themselves because I can barely get them to unplug when I want them to. Other than that and battery borrowing, I don't notice any difference.

i hear the "it makes your gun shoot faster" argument all the time, but i never noticed the difference. one of these days someone should see if they can actually prove/disprove this rumor.

the benefits i see to deans connectors is the size factor, and that's about it. yes, the larger surface area gives a lower resistance, but 99% of people wont notice a difference.

This. If you're splitting hairs and want to measure the resistance of one connector over the other, I'm sure you can see a difference in the numbers, but what you see in terms of performance is indistinguishable.

I put deans on everything since they're smaller, and easier to connect/disconnect than tamiya plugs. Also, I can connect the leads any way I want, and I can reverse polarity so I have a decent excuse for not loaning out batteries, which typically never make it back to the owner (if I use Dr. Joshua A. Beran as an example).

I use them because Fragistan made them standard, but I definitely like the size difference, the fact that they're so tight and won't come unplugged and that they're far harder to break. The rate of fire doesn't really matter to me, if a gun shoots it shoots.

Also, having a tool just shy of eight inches is a pretty cool.
