Another one....Is it worth posting anymore?

Yes, you guessed it. Another person shot with a "toy gun", this time in Florida. I really wasn't sure if this is worth posting anymore, as it seems these idiots are starting to come out of the woodwork to take down the "toy gun" hobby. Seriously, it seems like every couple of weeks, this happens. Can we get out ahead of the negative feedback, and let the world know that we are not the same as these idiots that pack their replicas around in the open?

What I found fascinating were the comments made by the victim's sister:

"They murdered him in cold blood for a toy gun!" the victim's sister, Claire Harding, told WFOR. "That’s no reason for you to kill somebody!"

Really? I mean the article said that the guy refused to drop the weapon and then raised it on the officer. What do you expect would happen?

In additon, they said they man had a disability, and the officers should have seen it or looked for it. Any LEOs want to tackle the procdeure on this one?

Quote from the article:
His neighbors said it was obvious that Ernest Vassell had a disability, and police should have known.

"It's so strange to me that I can see it, and then, the police didn't see it. Or they didn't look for it," said Conroy Anderson, a family friend.

I want a registration procedure for people owning replica firearms. Not like individually registering them but like a license to obtain and or own one. Seems like a pretty simple solution..

Seems like a horrible solution. It's sad that too many young kids have grown up in the regulation era where 'laws' are the answer to everything.

I really wish they would teach Constitutional Principles in high school, but I don't think most College Professors or Congressman get them either.

Wow...my immediate thought was " If you cared so much for him, why was your autistic brother not supervised, where did he get the toy gun and what the shazaam was he doing wandering the streets with it?" So many people are there for their drug abusing, mentally disabled or otherwise not whole loved ones...after the tragedy.

If you point something that could be misconstrued FROM THE BUSINESS END as a firearm at a cop, you will get some new breathing holes. Simple as that.

Not breathing holes, drain holes.

Natural selection on display here folks.

You are 100% right here. Laws that control aren't the answer to solving problems. Removing stupid people is. Unfortunately we can't do the latter so we do the former

I have seen this many times. The family troglodyte, whom the family does not give a flying crap about ( as evidenced by the lack of supervision in this case ) get dead by whatever means, and suddenly the troglodyte becomes a valued ( meaning multi million $$$ tort) family member.

Exactly, right here. This kind of stuff is, while sad, good for the country.

The most tragic thing in this whole thread, is your way of thinking.

This. 100% this.

And while this may be natural selection, it endangers my hobby so there's no way I can draw any sick satisfaction out of this.
