Will this battery fit into a KWA KM4-RIS crane stock?

Postby brandon toner » Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:30 pm

hey guys just wondering if this 11.1V 20A 1600mAh Li-Mn Nun-Chuck battery would fit in a KWA KM4-RIS crane stock.

Yours looks a little big, but I have no experience with it. For reference if it helps, here's a link to one my friend uses that I know works.

The battery vatican.ninja linked is the one that will work in that stock. The other two are two fat.

Why this and not LiPo? No sense in reinventing the wheel.

Also...11.1? Really? There is such as thing as too much power. Rolling that kind of voltage consistently puts more wear and tear on your weapon, for very little in return. Increased rate of fire? Leave that to the MG guys...it's their job. If you are a decent shot, you don't need high rate of fire.

My son owns a KWA with the stock you mention...we have been running the 9.6 batteries since we have had the gun. It is the most consistent replica we own, and have never had battery or power issues. I do know fellow players in my circle who have run 11.1 LiPo in their KWA...very impressive...puts the fear of God right into ya! But, one friend I know has gone through two KWA's in two years. Just flat chewed 'em up.

High voltage? Highly overated. Just my .02. 8)

Personally, I think Lipo batteries are junk. Stick with the 9.6v because they are less dangerous, more reliable, and last longer. I've ran 9.6v in all my guns for the last 4 years and never had a single problem with any of them.

That's my $.02

Vatican.ninja is right. I use that 9.6 and it is fantastic. It gives a fair rate of fire. Nothing that is going to waste ammo but I can empty my midcaps in about 6 seconds which is plenty. I would suggest redoing the connections to deans because the trigger response will be better.

Hope that helps.

Lipos, by nature, last longer than older inferior NiMh batteries, so that's wrong. But OP, why would you pay $55 for a lipo? They're much cheaper overseas. Just get two buffer tube lipos and run them in parallel in the crane stock.

I'll second this. LiPo's are the way to go. If you're worried about the voltage, get a 7.4v.

Actually just purchased some Gens Ace 7.4's for a friends G&G crane stock. Seem to work pretty well and are CHEAP.

Lipos may be better if you have the time to do them right with the needed precautions. In my experience I have never needed more though. I run a 9.6v in my G&P M4 and the rate of fire is fine, with no issues using NiMH. In the end it's personal preference, but in going lipoly make sure you have adequate knowledge on what it takes to maintain them so they remain safe in use and while charging.

There is NOTHING extra you HAVE to do with lipos. For years, I have just been plugging them into my charger and leaving them until the light turned green. Exact same as my old nimh battery charger.

Thanks guys, now that I think about it I will stick with my 9.6v battery's. I dont want to have to replace the internals often.

You won't have to with a 7.4v. And you'll get many more shots out of it and a slightly snappier trigger response.

Just one more thing to think about.

I have a KWA M4 RIS and have been able to handle the real steel version of my rifle. Without the weight of my NiMH the balance is off so if your going to a good balance then you'll want the heavier NiMH.

It is not a deal breaker, but something small to think about.

Cheers.
