Drum mags

Postby Osprey » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:28 am

OK I just bought a Echo 1 M4 ,and it came with a optional Drum mag. My question is could I use the Drum mag in a event. That's if I was doing a support role right?

Even some skirms won't allow the use of drum mags

None that I know of. I'm pretty sure switch was meaning that in the general sense.

So you can substitute ammo capacity for skill.

I'd use a drum mag on a LEGIT MG36 build, not just throw it on a G36c and call it a day. Simply slapping a drum mag on a gun does not make you teh 1337 uber LMG op3rator.
That being said however, I'd like to see a drum mag MIDCAP that would be allowed in Milsim games or OPs. Since airsoft mags need to hold more rounds to compensate for not having realistic bullet penetration power through brush and shrubbery (which is why realcap airsoft mags don't make sense to me unless used in CQB), a midcap drum mag with a decent sized limit would be nice for once, IMO.
M4 airsoft mags hold between 75-120 on average, so lets say they have about 3.5x the cap of a real M4 mag. A 350rd beta style drum C-mag midcap would fullfill this role nicely. (NO MORE RATTLING MAGS!) obviously, this would be for OPs and Milsim, since the new Lonex flash mags can hold 360rds of continuous fire in a standard-ish size M4 mag
