Where to buy MREs?

Where to buy MREs?

Postby ScaredShooter » Sun Oct 09, 2011 3:27 pm

First off, I'm not sure if it's tactical gear if it goes in my stomach.

Secondly, I'm not in the military.

What's reasonable (civilian) pricing for MREs? Where are the preferred places to buy, online or otherwise?

You can nab them online from places like Cheaper Than Dirt, or at surplus stores. They'll run about $12 retail more often than not, which is a pain. A good price is around $8 to $10.

I stopped buying them, though, when I looked into the caloric content and decided I'd have to play airsoft for 2 days on an empty stomach to try and burn that much off. Handy for parting out for backpacking and such, though.

from my experience ALSO as a civilian, I have known only a few places that actually sell MREs. I do know that most surplus stores i have shopped at sell MREs, MRE parts, and ration bars (mmm...tasty :bleh: )

I also know that most sell between $7 and $10.

don't eat shrimp Jambalaya... those shrimp are SKANKY.
If $400,000 a year is low-class, I'm totally f***ed.

Exactly what I was going for.

@Night_Stocker: Thanks for the advice, and I love shrimp.

So I just was crusing over them on CheaperThanDirt, I love how they're all numbered. Bwaha

I've been through Andy & Bax once, and need to go there again. Question: Would they have 'em?

Bro, just pack a lunch and stick it in a pouch. Don't submit your self to that digestive system horror.

Meals Refusing to Exit

I can see the advertisement:

"NEW MRE'S: MEALS READY TO EAT! THREE LIES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!"
"I have the cutest dog."
