taking the triangle sight of an M4

I have a SOCOMgear Noveske 14.5 and I wish to take the front triangle sight off. Does anyone know how to do that?

The ones I've seen have a small steel roll pin on the bottom/sides.
If yours is like that a hammer and a small punch would work. After that its a matter of pulling it off the barrel which might be the hardest part.

Well I am unfamiliar with SOCOMgear model M4s, but typically there are two pins below the Triangle sight that need to be tapped out to remove it. BUT the triangle sight can also be sometimes be welded on, like on the G&G Combat Machines, in which case you cannot remove the triangle sight.

by the photos it looks to be a standard m4 front sight, which should have pins. You should be able to tell if they are actual pins and not fake ones. If it's like the G&G where the front sight is part of the barrel, then you'll have to take the whole outer barrel off.

Look closely at it, because some of the sights also have allen screws instead of pins, look on both sides for it.

Some also have an allen screw on the underside (along with the two pins)

The SOCOM Gear will likely have a small allen like Catch22 mentioned. It's underneath the back of the front sight, sometimes hidden under the sling swivel.

You will also have to take out both pins.

When working on the sight attachment pins. Note that when you are trying to drive the pins out that some of these pins are tapered , that is they go out from one side and drive in in reverse. If you try to drive the pins from the wrong side they get tighter as you drive them. As with anything mechanical, don't force it. Use a small hammer (ball peen) and pin punches of the appropriate size, otherwise you are likely to mar the surrounding surfaces. firm taps should do the job. Take an old block of wood and drill a hole (1/2" or so)all the way through. then use the wood as a support piece under the barrel and drive the pins into the hole in the wood. They actually make an armorers block specifically to do this job, but for a one time job, a block of wood works fine.

Air soft guns are not made to mil spec ( or any spec for that matter) but be aware of this issue if something does not seem right when you attempt this procedure. Remember DON'T FORCE ANYTHING
