Echo1 M416 barrel mod question

Postby Osprey » Mon Oct 24, 2011 6:26 pm

Okay the barrel is already modded to tightbore barrel, and the barrel sticks out almost a foot out so I bought a silencer to cover it, but the the extra 8''inches is annoying the hell out me. so my question is if I cut the 8'' off will the fps and range be cut down. Or should I just leave it alone.

Im glad this is in off topic.
cause there is straight retardation happening here
range will be affected a little.
FPS will be affected a little.
why didnt you buy a barrel that fit?

and adding a tightbore barrel is not "modding", its upgrading. Dont say it that way. makes you look really uninformed

I meant upgrade instead of mod.

I bought the gun from a friend, and he already installed the long a$$ barrel because he wanted to use as a sniper rifle(I know, I know  ).

I don't want to use it as a sniper rifle so I wanted to know if I cut the barrel if it would change the FPS dramatically or do little to nothing to the FPS, But I already got my answer so thank you pulsipher. I didn't really want to do it unless I asked if it was a good idea.

Unless you know how to cleanly cut and crown a barrel, I think it'd be best just to keep it on there.. Or buy another barrel..

I might just buy a new barrel for that fact completely.

I thought you liked oversized things (not a hot dog joke, jest at the HUGE sig bar)!
Get a threaded barrel extension and stick that sucker on there. Cutting a barrel screws it up unless you have a REALLY high RPM saw, and are a pro. You risk bending the barrel, burring the edges, etc.
