If $400,000 a year is low-class, I'm totally f***ed.

Trying one out in central Oregon. 8 people. I'll let you all know how it goes and talk to the land owners (20000 acres) about a future event.

They will likely be lopsided as well. One side will have most of the planned out stuff, while the other side is just mostly opfor. I think as has been mentioned before, the opfor will have to likely have a cheaper/free entry fee.
I've worked on writing up quite a few "scenarios" and trying to make them both equal while trying to keep it pretty "mil-sim" is difficult.

I'm going to say shazaam it and write something up just like that to test out things. Having a nice field such as Camp R&R(and it being very close to me)gives me the ability to finally put some of these into motion.

I meant that the scenario is written out more in depth for the uh, "bluefor", and the opfor tend to be more actors than players.

I don't plan for the games I have in mind to ever be more than 30+ on each side do to the uniform/weapon/etc restrictions/requirements...

I've been trying to write stuff for about a platoon size force.

Yea, I agree with how mil-sim-y can it really get. For example at R66, things became disorganized to the point EVERYONE had a plan; too many chiefs. Everyone in the squad wants to know "the plan" and contribute their thoughts. So convoluted when that happens. Not sure how LC and Irene are treated though.

What Lion Claws event did you go to?

Oh, FYI, the LC event here in the NW will be not be $165 to attend, although most likely it will be a 3 day event. Expect more in the $120 range (unless you are an LC veteran), but don't quote me on that.

Bet you anything it's at Rilea. They've got the accommodations to house the numbers that LC pulls, and the MOUT village. If that's the case, I think people from our area would be stupid to pay $165+ for something that a local promoter could do for 45-50.

I didn't see what their hype is all about

I believe that phantom fury is hosting a game early next year at the rilea mout facility as the end of their game story.

OH, my trousers just got a little tighter....

How difficult is it to host games there?

Not that hard. Things might have changed since the last time I was out there, but they charge you based on how many people are attending, and you have to rent out the facility based on quadrants. So the MOUT village is one area, and you pay something like $9 a head. So if you wanted to rent the MOUT facility, and you are bringing 40 people, you would pay them for 40 people. But if you bring more than 40 people, it's your a$$.

They also require proof of insurance. The rub is that they can cancel on you at the drop of a hat, and you have no recourse. They give military training preferential treatment, obviously, but if a unit requests usage of the facility for the same day that you have it reserved, they can yank it on you.

Yes.

At blank fire events we have to sweep up all brass in the buildings and police as much brass as possible outside them. They are very particular about inside the buildings. They understand that you can't get everything outside but any BB spills, large concentrations near doors, etc would probably have to be picked up too. Range Control does a walk-through with the main point of contact to inspect and you don't leave until its done.
