Tech Pouch?

Postby Switchback » Mon Dec 19, 2011 9:58 pm

I'm wondering if there is any company that sells a complete "airsoft toolkit" that comes in a nifty like this:

Image

When I say toolkit, I don't want something like "a phone with Scared, Juice, and Strikerz on speed dial," I want links or something like "here's mine, what's in it, and a pic."

Maybe this can be of use; I've been in need of an actual set of tools for ages.

Credit to Black Ops Elite (UT) for the picture; I'm hopefully going to go to some of their events within the next year.

Hm.. I could see this pouch or something similar: http://www.skdtac.com/Eagle-Medical-Pouch-Molle-p/eag.207.htm

Also, a variety of Flathead and Phillips screwdrivers, along with an assortment of Hexheads, in Metric, or Imperial.

(I like Boundhus and Husky Hexes)

Get on chat and we can talk more.

An Eagle IFAK would probably be too small.

Do you mean one you can mount onto your vest or just a pouch that can hold it all?

HSGI has an EOD pouch that would work.

Realistically, the only tools you should need at the field are the various screwdrivers (hex, phillips and flathead), electrical tape and possibly scissors (although you should be carrying a knife anyway) and a wrench depending on you your gun disassembles. If you need more than those, your gun is out of action and you should deal with it somewhere other than the field. You're not in a warzone, you have the ability to return to your car for bigger problems, and trying to fix them without a good workspace is liable to make you lose parts or make your internals dirty as hell.

As a note, if I'm carrying tools, I keep them in pockets, and it's usually just one of those folding hex wrench sets and electrical tape. I usually just use a knife or a coin for dealing with other screws.

Joe just hits his gun with a log.
I've seen it work multiple times.

Since the FrankenAK is basically Joe's old Cyma, it still takes log fixing pretty well.

Not the one pictured, but it looks like it'd fit the bill. If your looking for a bag to carry tools in, but not on you, then I'd sugest

I have the large size for keeping all my mags/speed loaders/BBs together.

Duct tape, electrical tape, wire nuts, full set of hexes, torx, and screwdrivers, pliers, knife, spare fuses, barrel swabs, shaving brush x2 (one for dust and grit, one for optics). You can put it all pretty much any small pouch that will molle on. I have a small Kohl tool kit I picked up at ace that has most of that in it. Very cheap, zips up, add what you need.

The only 2 tools you should need for in the field repairs are a Phillips screw driver to remove motor grip screws, and a hooked tool to pop the anti-reversal latch. Any more then that and you should not do it in the field.

I carry a leatherman and a set of allen wrenches like in the picture. The Leatherman hooks to molle webbing.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty

I should have been more specific; I want a pouch that carries Hex, Allen, Needlenose, Punches, Etc. I just would like something that can keep all them tools together, and on a pouch. Like in the picture. Not necessarily for just field repairs, but a good place to keep them together and handy.

I'm liking all the pouches, but is there a place that sells a kit with the tools?

Jesse use a similar set up to keep his airsoft tools in.

He uses an EMT Pouch tucked inside a Rip Away EMT Pouch. That way he can carry the tools on his back and have someone get them easily if he needs them. He uses two pouches because there isn't a lot of bulk to tools, but he needs a lot of elastic loops and sorters to keep them organized.

I'm thinking an EMT pouch and a trip to The Home Depot.
Either that, or Mr. Jewish Ninja will pull through with something I like.

Since you never answered my question, a lot of toolkits come in pouches when you buy them, so you don't need a separate pouch. If you need one that mounts to a vest then an EOD pouch mentioned earlier would be good... IMO IFAKs are too small.
