G&G M4 Selector Switch?

Postby Gator » Thu Jan 05, 2012 5:50 pm

So ive had a problem going on with my G&G GR15, I noticed it at LOW4 when my battery stopped working, I put a new one in and a new problem surfaced, My selector switch had gotten harder to switch between safe, semi, and full. Shortly after i noticed that it was would continue shooting a short second after letting go of the trigger, This only happens in full-auto. In semi-auto, for some reason it will do a two round burst. Sometimes it will shoot in full auto while on Semi-Auto. Any suggestions on what it is? I figured there was some debri blocking the selector plate moving it, Causing the difficulty between switching. Id like to get the problem adressed so i buy the right parts to fix it. Any suggestions?

As if he didn't think of this before? I know I can be a nuisance sometimes, but holy fireballs of cat shit, if you can't help anybody don't post anything.

As for the debris, that wouldn't have an effect on semi/full auto if it was the case. Because once you select your fire mode, the selector plate is solid as a rock on that position. What I would honestly suggest is just taking the gearbox out of the gun, moving the selector plate back and forth, and putting it back in. Have you taken apart the M4 yet? It is fairly easy.

Just take out the gearbox and examine the selector plate. There is no need to crack open the gearbox.
Look for debris, unusual wear, and if the small spring is still there.
Move it around and see if there is any resistance in the plate, if not look at your switch and see if its maybe to loose or tight.

If nothing changes then you might have to open up the gearbox and look the the wiring and contacts.

How old is the gun?

Sounds like either your cut off lever is out of whack, Or the trigger is starting to fail (the contacts part)

If you know how to pull it apart, shorten the spring for the trigger block, and stretch the spring for the selector/cut off lever. I've had two that have failed in a similar way. One was the motor tho. Otherwise, take it to riddick and see what he can do for a repair, he says his cost is less to repair than others.

I've also seen mention of a fix to the cut off lever of rounding it down to make it not stick so bad, but i haven't done that so not sure if that works or not.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty
