Malfunction??

My scar is weirding out....i will pull the trigger will sometimes fire then stop, sometimes not fire . holding down will fire,not,fire etc... Ideas? It is a VFC scar -L with only a few thousand rounds through it.

Check the wiring for faults, or it could be the fuse.


I don't think its the gearbox...

could be motor issues, that sounds like what happen with my KWA. if its the fuse it would completely not fire. try pulling out the motor and see if it will spin freely when you pull the trigger. if it spins fine then put it back and try adjusting the motor height. a video might be helpful in this case or you could just take it to rick

it could be that the trigger isn't resetting. does the trigger pull feel the same each time?

A friend of mine's VFC SCAR-H had the same symptoms and the cause was burned out trigger contacts.

To me it sounds like a loose wire or a bad motor. Often if it's really fritzy, it's the motor. You'll get enough juice out of the battery to jump over a bad spot, but eventually the motor will stop on the bad spot again.

Hey TJ, I will be at the shop around 11am until 6. Drop it off and should have it repaired in a few days as the repair bay is not as full of jobs as it once was.

I have several tests that I do to isolate certain easy fixes before I need to get into the gearbox.

Test 1: remove the grip base plate and check if both of the wires to the motor are connected. I had this problem crop up once, and it turned out that one of the connectors to the motor had come off and was making intermittent contact. Shoot, no shoot, shoot, no shoot...
