Getting a cheap but good AEG

Postby Airsoft Elites Team » Sat Feb 04, 2012 11:11 am

I want an AEG extremely bad. But i have no money, and can maybe get up to 60-80 dollars. Does anyone have any recomendations or REALLY good sites. Also, do you know anyone who has one they don't want or use(ESPECIALLY A FREE ONE!!!)? Please post any thoughts.

PEOPLE- I can't get a job. You all say save up money. I can't really. I get no allowance or anything, so I usually make about $30-50 a year.

save up more money, than use the search function on here and read the one million posts about what gun is better, after that look up any number of posts on places to buy what you want. After all that ask your parents to buy one for you since you cant legally do so yourself, but make sure you explain exactly what they are buying you so they understand.

you can fine a decent AEG on craigslist for about $100 to $190 dollar's. Some might be Echo or JG, and maybe Classic Army. Try this first you might even find one thats been already upgraded. So just save a little more money. Also you can haggle down the price on craigslist. A gun for $190 can be $150 instead. I hope this helps.

This. Quote tunneled.

Your going to go nowhere with 60-80 dollars. Unless you do some chores or mow a lawn or five in the neighborhood, walk some dogs, care for some cats, not deal drugs then you'll be fine.

Hell, save those extra bottles and cans from 12 packs and stuff and turn those in for a little change. Something always goes somewhere. I remember a kid bought a Masada from AONW and paid in fives, ones, and a few tens. Then I heard the story of someone buying an AEG with change or something I think.

You also mentioned you make "30-50 dollars a year", why not save that up... It takes time to make money, it grows on trees but in raw form.

Tl;dr find whatever way you can to make money. It goes somewhere. Don't phony pony about it.

Most of the time cheap rifles like JG and CYMA are hit and miss. They're mass produced and not quality checked to ensure that they have working parts.

Best bet would be to find one maybe used, as they tend to have been fielded and possibly have some aftermarket parts helping them preform better.

Bone yards you can check online could be ASGI or Evike, though I've heard bad things about evike and they never have boneyard rifles in stock. Be aware that they usually are lacking parts, have been returned with missing things, or are broken in their entirety.

You can also check out craigslist for some pretty cheap deals on AEGs and such. Just got to keep a watchful eye out.

You can't be too sure on what you're buying when you're getting a bone yard AEG 100% of the time. Some sites don't even list what is wrong with the thing, they just send it to you hoping to get the cash they want, and that you know how to fix stuff. I know somebody who bought an A&K SAW from a boneyard and the thing can only lob a pellet for a distance unsuitable for a SAW platform.

So, if you're thinking of buying bone yard, be prepared with what you need to spend on the thing as soon as you try it out.

JGs are okay. I'm not stating that they're bad, they just have a bad/okay reputation from what I've heard. Along with CYMA. I've heard their AK's are great, some in the batch not on standards.

It sounds like you need a G&G Combat Machine... It's a durable, and comfortable platform which can be had for pretty cheap. They're also AR-15 models, so upgrades will be easy, and they will be compatible with lots of parts such as magazines and accessories.

Take a look at these, they are probably what you will want.

(Not even $100 can get you far... To buy a good, or at least acceptable AEG, your budget should be about $200.)
