M14????

Postby bushman » Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:29 pm

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anybody knows any good parts for the g&g m14, I want to upgrade mine, I already have a pdi barrel in it and I want to make it shoot in the ballpark of 400 fps. Any thoughts as to upgrades. Thanks for the help

M130 will be a tad high, personally, I like PDI 170s. A lot easier to put in as they are shorter, while putting less stress on the box, and putting you around 400.

What are you chronoing now? I doubt you need to push it to 400. Mine shoots about 360 (when it works) with a SP110. It chronoed at 260 (probably bad compression) at the horde and according to the guy's I shot it with it hurt like a meanie.

FPS depends on your barrel, bucking, and compression as well as the spring... But if you want close to 400FPS you'd need an SP110 spring or a PDI 150% spring (both have given me ~390FPS). An M130 will be WAY too high... and an M120 should be too, I get about 427FPS or so with my Modify M120 spring.

ya it runs about 360 it is just i want to get a little more range when it is fine tuned :) so pdi just makes their springs smaller????? more compressed???? one of my buddies has been having a problem with this and this might ba able to help him and me lol. thanks again

Just so you know, FPS ≠ Range. I've seen plenty of low-FPS Tokyo Marui's out-range plenty of guns with higher powered springs in them. It's all about the barrel-length, compression, and hop-up.

Maybe so, but higher FPS = heavier bb's go faster = more range without shooting so slowly that your bbs can be physically avoided at 50 feet, in my experience at least.

bolt are true andi know that fps dosn't equal range, i had a tm mp5 lol it had a really nice hopup but that is why i said fine tuned lol the hopup is a big thing with me, i typically run a vsr 10 with a pdi hop up. but i want to get everything good so good power so i can use heavier bbs and a good hop up for the range :)

Osprey, until you fix the grammar errors in your own bleeding sig, you don't get to be a grammar nazi.

On topic, I was able to get 390 out of a Modify M100 in my P90, so an M120 might be overkill. Comes down to your airseal.
