To fast FPS?

Postby Blender » Fri Feb 10, 2012 6:43 pm

I have an KWA 2GX KM4a1 and it is shooting a little over 400fps. In the 405-410 range. Since most FPS limits are 400 do i need to get a different spring or will they most likely let someone slide if they are a little over the limit?
Thank you

Well they're now raising the limit for AEGs to 420, so you're good.

Even if the limit was still 400, you would've been let in.

"They" are not raising the limit to 420. We're talking about whether or not it's even a good idea, given some insurance companies require 400. But still, if you are a few FPS over the limit it's usually acceptable.

And it's not being raised. It's always been accepted. It's people weren't open about it before so people wouldn't aim to be shooting at 420.

Depends on the event and the event staff. If they say 400fps, I'd aim for 390 to make sure. If they say 420, I'd say 400 just to make sure.

You don't need super high fps to shoot people. Keep it low, get closer to the enemy, and save your gearbox.

How can I lower my FPS?

Cool, you linked to a discussion...

Show me where all limits have been accepted as stated?

Cuz I can guarantee that my next game will not follow those limits...

It's right there in front of you. If it didn't happen, there wouldn't be a reason to complain.

Taken from the Safety page of this website:

Standard FPS Limits:
Chronographs are used before games to test all replicas present. Any replicas that test too high will not be allowed in play. No exceptions will be made, please research upgrades and how they effect your replica before purchasing or installing them. All of the following velocity limits are with .2g BBs.
Standard 6mm BBs Fully/Semi Automatics - 400 fps (1.5j)
CQB/Indoor - All under 330 fps (1j)
Sniper Rifles (Bolt Action ONLY) - 550 FPS (2.8j)
*Limits Measured with .20g BB

Go sit in a corner and shut up.

How can I lower my FPS?

Leave your spring compressed for a little bit.

I did this with my old Mp5 and it decreased by 1fps. 2 weeks stored with the piston fully back. It may work, it may not. The only surefire way to decrease FPS is to put a new spring in it.
