KM4 SR7 Info.

Postby Kamikaze SR71 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 5:31 pm

I am new to this site and couldn't find anything on this topic so i made one to get some information on the KWA KM4 SR7. Some of the main things i wanted to know are is there many problems with it out of the box. Is it good for outdoor games or just cqb. and is there any weapons that have more bang for the buck.

The sr7 is a great all around gun. Kwas don't have any note worthy "out of the box" issues. They only issue is that it can be a pain upgrading them because their compression components are engineered specifically for their gear boxes.

I have used my sr5 stock and it was more then capable of holding its own in a field game. I got a kill at what was easily 100 feet.

The only out of the box issues KWAs have is their normal pickyness with magazines.

What decent airsoft gun can't shoot 100 feet...

Not that much of an issue with the SR series. My SR-10 and the SR-12 I had both fed any mag I gave them. Much better than the Gen1 M16 I used to have. That one was majorly picky about mags.

I've had the opposite experience.
The first time I used an SR12, a quarter of my mags either didn't fit/feed or were a phony pony to get out.

Thanks guys this has basicly sold my on the KWA line because i can deal with buying KWA mags so i dont have a feed issue and as for the upgrades i dont plan on doing any internal stuff untill something breaks.

So you've only used it once, and only with your mags?

Before you spend money on KWA mags, try seeing which brands fit and feed well.

My teammates SR10 didn't work with my G&P, S arms, A&K, or even MAG mags...

mcnair is right KWA is extremely picky with what you can use with it, but right out of the box its an excellent gun. i have an SR10 and i had to ditch some of my old M4 madcaps(don't remember which brand)

here's a list of what other people have tested so far, the ones that says "USER TESTED" might not work on some other KWA models but if its an M4/M16 based platform it generally should work:

I've used it a few times and I have a mixed bag of magazines.

The info on the KWA website mentions all of those magazines, its odd because it never says that 100% of them don't work, but says "(A&K) tight fit, (G&P) very tight fit" and " (MAG) some work, some don't."

Seems like it's just kind of a luck of the draw. Maybe OP should go to AONW, BWTA, or TKNW and try a box of magazines in person, just to see if that specific batch will work...

My SR10/12 experience:

Mags that worked:

Mag 100
Mag 120
PTS Green Label Emag (Star)
Magpul PTS Emag (120) - tight fit in receiver
Random E1, G&P, G&G and King Arms mids

What didn't work: Magpul PTS Pmag and the S-Arms mids that worked perfectly in my Gen1 KWA M16
My grandfather circa 1976: "It's time to declare open season on politicians!"

Yeah, I had one of these that wouldn't lock in at all. Rick said something about the first gen of them doesn't work but the new ones do? I don't know. It doesn't work in my Javelin M4 either and the mag well is loose as shazaam on there.

Thanks for the additions to the thread it helps to know that some Pmags work because those are what i enjoy using but if not i dont mind paying a little more for KWA mags so i dont have any problems with them.
