If you wanted to make me a CPC for less than $770 I wouldn't mind. Using AOR1 fabric would be pretty cool too.

Think he means a scabbard. Why one would want something like that is beyond me. But HSGI makes one.

1.) What gear stands out as really effective. Any particular pieces or brands?
Eagle and LBT stuff. After buying/using TT, HSGI, Pantac, TAG, DBT, Paraclete, and Condor, Eagle and LBT stuff has become my favorite. The quality and design that goes into them is what gets me. I do wish that some Eagle stuff was a tad smaller on the sides (the Icom and MBITR pouches have a 1/4" of material on the sides that is slightly annoying as it crams the pouches together). I do love HSGI TACOs due to their versatility. Finding something that will hold both my G36 mags and M4 mags with no adjusting is amazing.

2.) What would you like to see done with gear that you wish companies would do.
More internal MOLLE on cummerbunds.

3.) What would you pay for this gear? For chest rigs, plate carriers, or pouches?
Up to $200 for a chest rig, $300 or so for a PC and no more than $60 for pouches.

4.) What colors of camouflage/solid colors would you buy your gear in?
Khaki, AOR 1 or 2 and woodland.

5.) What is the standard load of gear you use for airsoft, and if a chest rig was made speficially for an airsofter's loadout, what pouches would you need to hold what gear, in a perfect world? A radio pouch that's sized for the radios we use (FRSs and such, not MBITRs). A pouch that holds my snacks, batteries and other small misc items such as tape and zip ties. With tie downs and elastic to keep it sorted. Hopefully, with a velcro front. Condor makes a shotgun pouch that has the front fold open which would be great for all sorts of things.

6.) Anything else you'd like to add.

Don't use MALICE clips. I don't mind using them, I just find the Eagle strap/snap system to be much more solid and stable. Also, don't make things that should take up 2 rows of MOLLE only take up one. HSGI did that with some pouches like their frag and flashbang pouches and that's just silly. Frags are not 1.5" across so don't think you can fit it in that small of a space.

I'll expand on this when I get home and have more time to type shit out.

1: Have you seen those magnetic money clips? I'd like to see a bigger version of that on the left-side shoulder pad, with the open side facing out. That way, I can carry single-loop zip-strips over my left arm, grab the bad guy's hands with my left arm, reach up with my right, slide a zip-strip down over my arm and his hands, and then cinch it tight, all without having to let go of the dude.

2: I'd like to see a chest panel about 8 rows of MOLLE wide by 4 rows deep that has the MOLLE canted about 15 degrees off-true, with the left side being higher than the right (when I'm wearing it). It should ride centered on my sternum, with padded shoulder straps, and a back panel that is 8 rows wide by 6 rows deep. But the MOLLE should be set up to form a chevron, with 4 rows on each side of the "^", so I can mount pouches on it and actually be able to get into them easily. It needs a drag handle that can hold up to somebody dragging my sorry butt out of the line of fire at a high rate of speed. The left shoulder strap should have a zip-strip keeper, and the right side should have a pocket for the butt of an AR-15 / M-4 / M-16. The top of the right shoulder should have a reinforced "D" ring that I can clip a wolf-hook style sling to.

And there should be attachment points on the back of the shoulders and bottom of the back panel for mounting clips like the 5.11 Tier system, so I can clip a backpack into them. Bonus points if the backpack mounts are on a cable cutaway so I can drop the pack in a hurry when moving from an approach load to an assault load.

3: A backpack. I already have the basic design roughed out in my head. About the size of a largish backpacking ruck. The main pack is three compartments from left to right. The left pack is on a cutaway, sort of like the Ares Armor R.A.D. pack. A plate carrier folds out from the left side and there are two "D" rings on the right backpack strap top and bottom that the plate carrier right edge mates to with snap links. The right side is on a seperate cutaway, and has enough space for a compact carbine or a upper / lower split M-4, attached to the inside top of the pocket on a wolf-hook sling. The central pocket has a panel for a hydration bladder, a plate pocket, and a pocket for a radio / laptop. The flap for the pack is a giant admin panel. It's held to the body of the pack by velcro, with a pull handle on the back top. It's also attached to the body of the pack with two elastic straps. I can reach over my head and yank the flap free from the bag, lift it over my head and in front of me, and I can dig through the pocket for random stuff. The "back" of the pack has a couple of smaller pockets for clothes / food, and molle panels for attaching mission-specific subloads. The bottom of the pack also has molle, primarily for mounting a sleeping bag to it, as well as a "D" ring on each corner for hanging demo packs or claymore bags or what have you. There is an elasticized rain cover in the bottom of the bag that you can pull up to cover the entire pack, and in a "non-tactical" color for when you have to go sterile in the back country. And the central bag is on a cutaway cable, so you can drop everything except the armor and weapon bag.

I second Steve's slanted-MOLLE chest rig idea. I'd try one out.

Am i the only one who's jaw is hitting the floor when people say they will pay $300 and $600 for a PC for airsoft? FOR AIRSOFT? I thought saying i would pay over $100 was high, especially since i paid $20 for mine used at the expo.

Some people use them outside of airsoft. Some people are willing to pay for quality.

Something that is new to the market(I beleive) is a single SMG(mp9/p9/p9) mag pouch, not a triple just a single.
Only other advice would be a nice web site and good prices.

split front P90 chest rig. 2-3 mags on each side. Take every effort to make it as low-profile as possible, in black.

EDIT: I have an idea for a chest desk, but its a bit complicated.

Land Nav Chest Desk
About 6-8 MOLLE columns wide.
Front (further from the chest) has velcro for patches and such, and a couple pieces of elastic for a chemlight
A flap folds down and has a holder for 3x5 cards on the inside.
Another flap folds up to expose a flat pocket for more 3x5s and such.
Main body has a 3/4 surround zipper.
Front half folds down, has pull out map panel (vinyl case)
rear half, start from front to back, has a fold-down pocket for a GPS like this, but on the inside, so you can quickly compare one against the other.
along side has loops for pens (4-6), a couple loops for spare chemlights, a flat pocket sized for a UTM/MGRS protractor, a flat pocket for a Silva baseplate compass, elastic loops for spare batteries (AA and CR123s), and a pocket for a Surefire flashlight (6PX with a filter, that sort of thing)
Just behind that is a big flat pocket for random bits of paper, target photos, that sort of thing.

Basically this thing, with some serious modifications. http://www.optactical.com/zumeadpow4la.html

Paid $200 for mine FOR AIRSOFT. Lack of quality replicas and the assurance that it'd be the only one I wanted for years to come made it the logical choice. Why pay $80 for a replica that's going to tear, ride less comfortably, and not work the exact way I want it (replicas of my PC can have improper stitching in several areas, making some parts weak and ruining some of the MOLLE paneling) when I can get something that's going to last?

And nowhere in Dan's post does it say he's making gear just for airsoft. He asked us what we wanted to see in airsoft gear at one point, but that hardly means that's the only thing it'll be used for. People will pay $300 and $600 for a legitimate PC.

1.) What gear stands out as really effective. Any particular pieces or brands?

I buy condor because it's cheap yet very functional. And no problems yet.

2.) What would you like to see done with gear that you wish companies would do.

pouches with pockets for a certain item to make packing your say go bag easy, no more huge bags that you just end up stuffing everything into. Also some external frame packs/stiff frame packs (no more sagging or lopsided loads.

3.) What would you pay for this gear? For chest rigs, plate carriers, or pouches?

I would pay what it's worth, if something is made very well and meets my needs perfectly i'll pay ten or twenty bucks more. problem is if you go to expensive nobody will buy. i'd say whatever price makes you 100% profit after all your overhead for making the product IE. if it costs you (everything included) $20 dollars to make charge $40

4.) What colors of camouflage/solid colors would you buy your gear in?

OD green. Marpat.

5.) What is the standard load of gear you use for airsoft, and if a chest rig was made speficially for an airsofter's loadout, what pouches would you need to hold what gear, in a perfect world?

some sort of pouch designed specifically to hold speedloaders (the small ones) and a pouch made to hold a bottle of bbs (preferably somehow soundproofed so they can't hear you coming)

6.) Anything else you'd like to add.

A different system besides buttons or velcro to fasten flap and such. I was thinking magnets. strong enough to keep it closed but not strong enough to make it an issue. all this again for the silence factor. No such thing as a sneaky reload when your mag pouch is secured with velcro.

Also some sort of ghillie top that was actually molle attachable to comfortably wear over your tac vest yet not have to worry about it falling off.

Would also be cool to have an insulated pouch for keeping foods cold in. Think lunch box with molle capabilities.

True. I brought up airsoft because this is an airsoft forum. I plan on making gear that is usable by people overseas that will beat it up, but cheap enough that some airsofters will be willing to buy it. For those that want something in their lower end prices, there will be some simpler and lighter chest rigs.
