Why are you worried about your mags being scratched....

It's an AK, They're meant to be abused.

Are you also worried your AK will get scratched too?

Okay, am I missing something here, or how do you worry about fabric scratching metal AK mags? I mean, what could they possibly grind on? Anyways, your mags are going to get scratched up from the magwell and general abuse already so its a stupid thing to worry about. Hell, some people artificially weather their AK's just so they HAVE that look. Also, don't get a chest rig in ACU if you want to blend in with Oregon's (Or really any where else :P) forests. Get something in green or tan if you are not getting the ACU for a reason.

i'm more worried about the chest rig falling apart from the awesomeness of an AK than the E1 mags getting scratched

Nah, I was just wonderig. They could get scratched from the mags scratching against each other while in the same pouch.
Also, iv heard that tan sometimes blends in with forest a little better that od sometimes. The field where I will go has lots of tall dried grass too. I where an od jacket, and camp pants anyway.

Cover your mags in Vaseline so they slide in and out of your pouches more easily, it'll also put a protective coating on them.

My main question is why do they call that a "CHEST" rig?
that is not a chest rig at all.

Because "beer gut protector" doesn't sound nearly as sexy/cool.

If you don't want your AK mags to get beat up, leave them in the box they came in and never touch them. Wear and tear is a normal part of airsoft. The rig it self will not damage the mags, but the mags rubbing together will cause the crappy China lead paint to wear off the mags faster than normal. If you want mags that hold their finish better, then look into getting some Real Sword mags. They are spendy (all the good stuff is) but the finish on them is much tougher.

I realize STRIK3 is trolling, but in all seriousness, don't use vaseline with anything airsoft. It can destroy anything rubber (piston O-ring, GBB seals) and you'll be a very sad panda.
