PointBlank OTV/Flak Jacket

I have a PB OTV, and I really have nothing on it besides a medic pouch. I want to see what some Marines would have on their OTVs so I could get some ideas. So with whatever pictures you guys can find can you post some pictures of Marines with their OTVs on so I can see what else I can put on mine. Much obliged

Not standard Marines, but they do have some good pictures.

Also, aren't IOTV's hella heavy?

Trade up for something lighter, and more Tacticool.

Most of the guys in my unit had what ever they could get a hold of. Generaly it was 3 double stack m16 mag pouches on their strong side, IFAC on the left along with any dodad pouches they needed. a basic tan Camel Bak was ran through the sholder loops on the back. If they were assigned a m203, or SAW, the pouches would change to reflect the weapons systems. I cheated and purchased a TAG Spartian 1 OTV carrier out of my personal funds. In my case I had 3 blackhawlk double stacks and my IFAC was on my right hand side to the 5 o'clock position. My dump pouch was normally ran through my belt if I was doing foot patrols. If I was driving I had my IFAC and my dump pouch removed and hung next to my seat. The drivers hole of the LAV series is a tight fit for anyone under normal conditions. With gear on it was a phony pony. At the time of this pcture I was 5'7" 150 lbs and it was a tight squeeze.

@Poebot They aren't too heavy, to some it might be, but I don't mind it. I actually like it a lot, I also have a Eagle MBAV so I got something light and tacticool.

Your welcome. The thing is that in reallity for Marines, we beg, barrow or steal just about everything we have. At the time I was active we didnt have a lot of high speed, low drag gear like there is on the market now. What we could get, we got with what cash we could scrape up that wasnt being used to support our heavy drinking habbits or the local single moms out in town. If it worked for the task we needed, we used it. Generally it looked dirty, torn, and barely serviceable when we "accuired" the bits of gear in the first place. Some people packed as much shit on their vests as they could, others were minimalist like me. I carried just what I needed on my vest. Everything else went in my pack or was attached to it. I was a combat lifesaver as well so my pack had a whole lot of other needed toys in it. For my pack, I had 4 extra mags, 2 canteens, 2 MREs (stripped down) rifle cleaning kit, 200 ft of 550 cord, land nav kit, turtle skin gloves (search gloves used to handle constitina wire) 2 pairs of clean socks,lots of batteries, and my combat lifesavers kit. That is was basicly all the spare kit that our corpsman might need if his pack was damaged and was about four times the standard kit. More shit made its way into the bag o' crap as needed for the mission.
