I think that the answer is yes, they're to be considered box mags. People barely tolerate 400 round hi caps, and an 850 round box mag is two of that. That said, if it's being used on the M27 platform I don't think people have much to complain about. That's the purpose of the platform. If someone really doesn't like it, they can limit hi cap use to the IAR and let everyone else use mid caps at their games.

Damn that's a hard sell.... IMO i don't like Fat Mags. Just like Matt and Peaches, it is way more intense and dynamic with Mid-caps and Hi-caps rather than everyone spamming for 2 minutes straight. Fat Mags would be an awesome alternative to Auto-Mags though....

The nice thing about the fat mags is that well, the price is out there (at least for the time being) for most noobs, however with that being said, whats to say someone picks one up and says, this is an IAR.

Yeah. I'm on board with the military discipline and not acting like a total noob. I think Fat Mags should replace box mags but i also don't own any LMG.

I have a fat mag.

I accidentally traded all my midcaps to get my gun fixed. :(

Mostly just super high speed elite Airsofters trying to inflate their internet tool.

But even still, there is an argument to be made about kids holding down that M4 trigger like a support gun. I've never noticed it to be an issue, though, and do not care what some kid brings to a game.

I hold down the trigger like a SAW using a regular M4 with midcaps. I just have to bring more midcaps.

Notice the poor kid with two hicaps has about 1,000 rounds at the ready. The rich kid with 130 round midcaps has a dozen mags, and has closer to 1500 rounds at the ready.

A standard infantry loadout is 7 magazines, which is 210 rounds in real life. A SAW is supposed to carry 600. In reality, a soldier has closer to 10-12 magazines (300-350 rounds) and a SAW should have at least 800 rounds. Either way, a support gun should have about three times what a regular soldier should have, and also those regular soldiers should often carry more ammo for the support gunner to use.

Usually the person bitching about people bringing box drums and hicaps are the guys that have 5 midcaps and don't like using more even though they can afford it. They want to shoot in semi all day because their weapon is tuned perfectly and they can actually hit what they aim. The kid with two hicaps sprays out of a shitty JG gun and probably isn't even aiming.

The point is, I have no idea what the point is.

Try taking out an invincible 12 year old at a game as he shoots at you through a 1/2 inch slit, with his assault platform that has a 5000 round boxmag attatched to it. It's not so easy until he runs out of ammo.... and then you get really pissed when he reloads with the 2nd boxmag that his mommy just got him for his birthday. This is just one reason why I despise boxmags. This is when Thunder B's half filled with baby powder tend to be fun for you and a pain in the a$$ for little Timmy that just bought his brand new Airsplat sweatshirt with an M4 on the sleeve.

My point, I have no clue, but I despise boxmags NOT on support weapons.

Shoot the hole. If he was taking aimed shots, he'd be holding out even longer!

I don't see an issue with using the fat mag on a 416 (which in airsoft, is the same as the M27). I got one for shits and giggles. Sadly, it weighs too much to work well in guns :(

How on earth can a mag weigh too much to work well in a gun?

That doesn't make sense.

Some mag catches aren't as strong as others. I heavy mag with a weak mag catch, won't let the mag seat properly.
